    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a perforated plate for an application apparatus for the application of a fluid onto a component, preferably a motor vehicle bodywork and/or an add-on part therefor. The perforated plate comprises at least three through-holes for the passage of the fluid, wherein the through-holes are assigned to a row of nozzles with a central region and two edge regions, wherein the at least one outermost through-hole in at least one edge region has at least one reference opening diameter that is smaller than at least one reference opening diameter of at least one through-hole in the central region. The disclosure also relates to an application apparatus and an application method with such a perforated plate.

    Abstract: A coating method for coating components, e.g. motor vehicle bodywork components in a painting installation, is provided. The coating method includes moving an application device over a component surface to be coated along a pre-determined coating path, and applying a coating medium stream onto the component surface by means of an application device. The coating medium stream is not rotationally symmetrical relative to its stream axis and therefore generates on the component surface an elongate spray pattern with a particular longitudinal direction. The method further includes rotation of the application device about the stream axis relative to the coating path during the movement of the application device so that the angular position of the longitudinal direction of the spray pattern relative to the path transverse direction changes along the coating path.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to an application device for applying an application medium onto a component, preferably for application of a coating onto a motor vehicle body component. The application device includes a print head for preferably serial and/or permanent application of the application medium, wherein the print head has: a nozzle plate, at least one nozzle in the nozzle plate in order to discharge the application medium, at least one valve element, which is movable relative to the nozzle plate, for control of the application medium discharge through the at least one nozzle, wherein the at least one movable valve element closes the at least one nozzle in a closing position and releases it in an opening position, and at least one drive for moving the at least one valve element. The application device is characterised in particular in that it includes at least one temperature control apparatus for reducing heating of the at least one drive during application of the application medium.
