    Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for treating sour natural gas. The apparatus comprises a sparger for use in a high pressure and associated or non-associated sour natural gas environments. The sparger is used to disperse sour natural gas inside a sweeting tower/sulphide treatment vessel to facilitate an efficient transfer of hydrogen sulphide or carbon dioxide from the sour natural gas to a sweeting chemical inside the sulphide treatment vessel. A portion of the sparger exposed to the sulphide treatment environment is protected with a corrosion resistant layer/coating. The corrosion resistant layer protects the substrate metal of the sparger from corrosive environment of the sour natural gas inside or outside of the sparger. Corrosion resistant layer material may be selected so as to prevent the substrate metal from corrosion and suphide cracking.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a slurry reactor system suitable for continuous multiphase reaction/separation, as well as a method for continuous reaction/separation of a multiphase reaction in a slurry reactor system. The system includes a reaction vessel, a separation device that includes a separation chamber and a filter element, and an agitation device. The filter element includes a filter, which is in contact with a slurry in the reaction vessel and on the surface of which a solid material from the slurry forms a filter cake in the reaction vessel. The agitation device generates a flow of the slurry in the reaction vessel. A flux of a liquid product from the slurry in the reaction vessel across the filter and into the separation chamber is maintained at a substantially constant level for long term continuous reaction/separation without interruption.

    Abstract: A full cone liquid spray nozzle is provided. The spray nozzle includes a nozzle body having a discharge orifice at a downstream end and an inlet at an upstream end for connection to a liquid supply. A liquid flow passageway extends through the nozzle body communicating between the inlet and the discharge orifice. A vane is disposed in the liquid flow passageway upstream of the discharge orifice. The vane has a plurality of V-shaped passageways therein. Each V-shaped passageway extends inward at an angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the vane between an upstream face and downstream face of the vane. A whirl and mixing chamber defined by the liquid flow passageway is arranged between the vane and the discharge orifice.
