Abstract: A release agent for being coated onto a tire bladder made of a zinc-oxide-incorporated butyl rubber during pneumatic-tire molding, the release agent containing (A) organopolysiloxane, which contains a carboxy group indicated by the general formula (1) below (in the formula, R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 monovalent hydrocarbon group excluding R2, R2 is a carboxy-group-substituted C1-C30 monovalent organic group, R3 is R1 or R2, and n is an integer of 3 to 2000.). This release agent produces a longer service life of a tire bladder and leads to reduced tire production cost because the amount of silicone that migrates to the tire side is low when the tire is released, and repeated mold-release performance is enhanced.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a coating composition or paint comprising a multistage latex with at least first and second stages, wherein the composition or paint is substantially free of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and capable of film formation even in the absence of coalescent agents. The base paint formulation is capable of being tinted at a point-of-sale (i.e. in-store) using a colorant composition of a type and quantity required to produce a paint of desired color and finish. The paints, show improved block resistance, scrub resistance and tack resistance. Rheological techniques as described herein may be used to determine tack resistance, print resistance, and other performance characteristics.

Abstract: A polymer latex composition for fibre binding includes: a) 50 to 98 wt.-% based on the total weight of latex particles in the composition of first latex particles having a volume average particle size of 80 to 1000 nm, wherein the first latex particles optionally bear functional groups and if functional groups are present they are selected from functional groups consisting of acid functional groups and salts, amides or anhydrides thereof, silane functional groups, and combinations thereof; b) 2 to 50 wt.-% based on the total weight of latex particles in the composition of second latex particles having a volume average particle size of 5 to 70 nm bearing epoxy functional groups, to the use of that composition for fibre binding, to a fibre structure including the dried residue of that composition and to a method for increasing the strength of a fibre structure.

Abstract: A kit for providing a polymerizable resin system is disclosed, which kit comprises a first Part A and a second Part B, which Part A and Part B upon mixing provides a working period of intermediate stage polymerization in which the mixture obtains a desired cohesiveness for a predetermined period of time. Also disclosed is a method of using the mixed composition as an adhesive, cement, glue, sealant, a base liner, a capping agent, a material for surface or structural repair and/or filling, an encasing material, a bodily implant, a dental material, and/or as a polymeric object having a living polymer surface property.
