Abstract: Provided is an oil-in-water-type emulsion composition which can be produced by directly emulsifying an organopolysiloxane having a high polymerization degree, contains substantially no oversized particle, and has a small average particle size. A method for producing the oil-in-water-type emulsion composition using a vertical batch mixer is also provided. The oil-in-water-type emulsion composition is an emulsion comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane having an overall viscosity of 1,000,000 mPa·s or more or having plasticity or a mixture thereof, (B) a surfactant, and (C) water. Component (A) is emulsified in water by the action of component (B), the average particle size of emulsion particles falls within the range from 0.1 to 7.5 μm, and the content of emulsion particles each having a particle size 10 times or more larger than the average particle size is less than 5.0 vol %.

Abstract: A nano-emulsion composition having a small particle size and ultra-low concentration and a preparation method thereof is disclosed. The raw materials of the composition comprise, in terms of percentage by weight, 0.002% to 0.2% of a polymer-containing homogeneous microemulsion, water, and 99.998% to 99.8% of an organic salt solution or inorganic salt solution. The composition is prepared by diluting a polymer-containing homogeneous microemulsion with water or a salt solution. The polymer-containing homogeneous microemulsion is formed by mixing the following raw materials, in terms of percentage by weight: 8% to 40% of a surfactant, 0.5% to 10% of a polymer, 10% to 30% of an alcohol, 3% to 30% of an oil, 0% to 20% of a salt, and balance of water. The composition of the invention is low in concentration, low in cost, narrow in particle size distribution, good in stability, simple in preparation, and convenient for storage and use.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for producing a hydrogel comprising the following steps in succession: a first step (i) of providing at least one powder of an anionic polymer (A) and at least one chitosan powder (B) comprising amine functions (—NH2); a second step (ii) consisting in dry mixing at least the powders (A) and (B) from the first step in order to form a mixture of powders; a third step (iii) of suspending the mixture of powders obtained from the second step in an aqueous medium having a pH that can enable the anionic polymer (A) to be dissolved without dissolving the chitosan (B); a fourth step (iv) of adding an acid to the suspension obtained from the third step in order to form the hydrogel; or the third (iii) and fourth (iv) steps are replaced by a mixing fifth step (v), comprising mixing an acidified aqueous medium including at least one compound (C) comprising at least one unit of a hexose or a unit derived from a hexose, and/or at least one phosphate of said compound (C), with said mixture comprising at least the powders (A) and (B) obtained from the second step (ii).

Abstract: An aqueous dispersion contains pigment colorant particles (of various types of materials) at 5 weight % and up to and including 80 weight %; a dispersing polymer that is prepared from the Diels Alder adduct of 3-maleimidopropionic acid and furfuryl (meth)acrylate; and an aqueous medium. The weight ratio of the pigment colorant particles to the dispersing polymer is from 19:1 to and including 2:1. This aqueous dispersion can be incorporated into an aqueous inkjet ink composition that can be used in various inkjet printing methods to provide opaque images particularly when titanium dioxide particles are used as the pigment colorant.

Abstract: Aminofunctional silicone compositions are disclosed comprising: an organopolysiloxane having an average formula of (CH3)3SiO[(CH3)2SiO]x[(CH3)RNSiO]ySi(CH3)3 with less than 1 weight % of nitrogen in its formula, where RN is an aminofunctional group, x is ≧100, y is ≧1 with the proviso the sum of x+y is from 250 to 350; wherein the viscosity of the silicone composition ranges from 1000 to 2500 cP at 25° C. and is measured by a Brookfield RV DV viscometer equipped with Pro CP 52 spindle at 20 RPM; and the aminofunctional silicone composition contains less than 0.1 weight % of D4 and less than 0.1 weight % D5 cyclic siloxanes.
