Abstract: A color filter forming substrate used in a multifunctional terminal is provided which has a frame disposed surrounding respective colored layers for a color filter and having a non-display area formed by the frame portion all around a boundary between the display area and the frame, and specifically has a transparent substrate as a base material; and, on one side of the base material, colored layers of respective colors for a color filter disposed in a display area and a frame portion comprising a light-shielding colored layer disposed as a region not for display around a periphery of the region for display. The color filter forming substrate is used for a display device.

Abstract: Hybrid dual layer filter can be employed can be employed as filters. A multispectral imager comprises a two layer filter array monolithically integrated onto detector array, a top layer of pigment based filter and a lower layer of plasmonic nano-optic filter to make a low cost and narrow bandwidth filter without side leaking or side peaks. Multispectral imager comprises a microlens array, a mosaic patterned optical filter array underlying the microlens array and including a two-dimensional repetition of a unit mosaic pattern, and a pixelated detector array underlying the mosaic patterned optical filter array. The unit mosaic pattern comprises an array of composite filter elements having different peaks in a respective transmittance spectrum. Each composite filter element comprises a pigment based filter portion and a plasmonic nano-optic filter portion.

Abstract: Provided is an imaging device (1) having: a front optical system (10) that transmits light from an object; a spectral filter array (20) that transmits light from the front optical system (10) via a plurality of spectral filters; a small lens array (30) that transmits the light from the plurality of spectral filters via a plurality of small lenses respectively, and forms a plurality of object images; a picture element (50) that captures the plurality of object images respectively; and an image processor (60) that determines two-dimensional spectral information on the object images based on image signals output from the picture element (50). The front optical system (10) is configured to transmit the light from the focused object to collimate the light into a parallel luminous flux.
