Abstract: A secure remote actuation system includes a remote input receptor that receives one or more user inputs from a user, a cloud-based network stores the one or more acceptable inputs, a network device obtains the one or more user inputs from the remote input receptor, the network device obtains the one or more user inputs from the remote input receptor while the user is using the user interface, a cloud-based network compares the one or more user inputs to the one or more acceptable inputs, the acceptable inputs at least partially derived from dynamically changing environmental parameters, and a remote device is controlled based on the comparison of the one or more user inputs to the one or more acceptable inputs.

Abstract: System, method and computer program product for determining a polling schedule for a remote control, are described. A multimedia device collects usage data that identifies when the multimedia device is in use. The probability that the multimedia device is in use for a particular time is determined based on the usage data. A polling schedule is generated based on the usage probability such that the periods in the polling schedule vary according to the usage probability to minimize energy consumption. The remote control then polls the multimedia device according to the polling schedule.

Abstract: A remote control device may be configured to be mounted over the toggle actuator of a light switch and to control a load control device. The remote control device may include a base portion and a rotating portion supported by the base portion so as to be rotatable about the base portion. The remote control device may include a control circuit, a wireless communication circuit, and a rotary encoder circuit. The rotary encoder circuit may be configured to translate a force applied to the rotating portion into input signals, and to operate as an antenna of the remote control device. The rotary encoder circuit may be configured to provide the input signals to the control circuit. The control circuit may be configured to translate the one or more input signals into control signals for transmission to the load control device via the wireless communication circuit.

Abstract: A secure remote actuation system with a low power function is described herein. The system may comprise a remote input receptor and a network. The remote input receptor may comprise a user interface for receiving user inputs from a user and firmware having stored thereon instruction for executing a low power function. The network may comprise a combination of computer systems interconnected by telecommunications equipment or cables allowing information to be exchanged. The network may also comprise a network device for obtaining the user inputs from the remote input receptor. One or more acceptable inputs may be stored on the network. In the present invention, the network device obtains the user inputs from the remote input receptor while the user is using the user interface and then the network compares the user inputs to the acceptable inputs.

The remote input receptor may comprise a user interface for receiving user inputs from a user. The network may also comprise a network device for obtaining the user inputs from the remote input receptor. One or more acceptable inputs may be stored on the network.
