Abstract: Apparatuses, devices, and methods for operating a multi-level voltage converter are described. A semiconductor device can include a circuit, where the circuit can include a plurality of current sources. The circuit can be configured to measure a flying capacitor voltage across a flying capacitor of a multi-level voltage converter. The circuit can be further configured to compare the flying capacitor voltage with a voltage level equivalent to an intermediate voltage that is between ground and an input voltage being provided to the multi-level voltage converter. The circuit can be further configured to, based on a result of the comparison, switch a current source among the plurality of current sources to maintain the flying capacitor voltage at the intermediate voltage.

The feedback signal may be one of a sensed signal measured from an output of the power stage and a calibration signal representing a fixed voltage. The apparatus may convert the feedback signal into a correction signal. The apparatus may further adjust a synthetic current using the correction signal, the synthetic current being associated with the power stage.

Abstract: A driver for driving an electromechanical device having a solenoid and a mechanical switch. The driver includes an input port, a ground port, first and second output ports connectable to the electromechanical device; and two power switches. A controller operates in a first mode to charge the solenoid and close the mechanical switch, a second mode to maintain the mechanical switch closed, and a third mode to discharge the solenoid and open the mechanical switch. In the first and second modes, the low-side power switch is on and the high-side power switch is controlled to switch between an on-state and an off-state by the controller. In the on-state a path is formed between the input port and ground via the high-side and low-side power switches, and the solenoid. In the off-state a path is formed between ground and ground via a ground diode, the solenoid and the low-side power switch.

Abstract: A sensor system and an update server perform a method for updating the sensor system. The update server performs steps of retrieving a pre-shared sensor key associated with the sensor system, calculating a server signature based on update data and the retrieved sensor key, and transmitting the update data and the calculated server signature to the sensor system. On the other hand, the sensor system performs steps of receiving the update data and the calculated server signature, retrieving the pre-shared sensor key stored in a register, calculating a sensor system signature based on the update data and the pre-shared sensor key, comparing the sensor system signature with the server signature and processing the update data if the sensor system signature and the server signature are identical.

A circuit can, in response to a completion of a state of the multi-level voltage converter, output an indication that indicates whether a voltage of a flying capacitor in a multi-level voltage converter reaches a reference voltage or fails to reach the reference voltage. The completed state can be one of a charge state and a discharge state. A controller can, in response to the indication indicating the voltage of the flying capacitor fails to reach the reference voltage, repeat the completed state to operate the multi-level voltage converter.

Abstract: A method may include receiving power from a power adapter having a power adapter current limit, providing power from the power adapter to a load having a load current at a first load current level that is less than or equal to the power adapter current limit; generating a first periodic current through an inductor in a forward direction; detecting the load having the load current at a second load current level that may be greater than the adapter power current limit; decreasing the forward current level of the first periodic current; and generating a second periodic current through the inductor in a reverse direction to provide power from the battery module to the load. The second periodic current may be initiated in the reverse direction when the first periodic current in the forward direction reaches the zero current level.

Abstract: Systems and methods for over current protection are described. A controller can receive a differential feedback voltage signal from a power stage. The differential feedback voltage signal can be proportional to an inductor current through an inductor in the power stage. The controller can amplify the differential feedback voltage signal to generate a differential threshold that includes an upper bound and a lower bound. The controller can compare the amplified differential feedback voltage signal with the differential threshold. The controller can, based on a result of the comparison of the amplified differential feedback voltage signal with the differential threshold, determine whether to adjust at least one of a modulator on-time and a modulator off-time of a control signal to limit the inductor current, wherein the control signal is for driving the power stage.
