Abstract:
To obtain a to obtain a cushion function and suitable sound effects and a sound pressure effect by containing a speaker without giving sense of incongruity and avoiding impact from an outside to the speaker at the same time. A cushion 20 comprising: a resin body with a spring structure 10 comprising a three-dimensional structure including voids at a predetermined bulk density, the three-dimensional structure being obtained by contacting, entwining, and gathering adjacent ones of random loops or curls of continuous filaments made from a thermoplastic resin in such a manner as to allow the resulting structure to have a layered structure in which oppositely lengthwise disposed superficial layers have a high bulk density, and a core layer having a low bulk density is interposed between the superficial layers, wherein the resin body with the spring structure supports at least an upper half of a human body when using the cushion; and a speaker incorporated in the resin body with the spring structure 10 or oppositely disposed on either of the superficial layers of the resin body with the spring structure 10.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a massaging apparatus that faithfully incorporates the rhythm or melody of a music source and performs massage with accents arranged more effectively based on these. A massaging apparatus of the present invention comprises massaging mechanisms (4, 5) that give mechanical impulses to a body by driving motors (5a, 10, 11), and a control device (13) that controls operations of the motors. The control device (13) comprises a waveform converter (18) having a waveform converting circuit for converting a waveform of an audio signal input from a sound source (A), such as a smoothing circuit, a differentiating circuit, or an integrating circuit, and a specific frequency band signal selecting unit (17) having a low pass filter, a high pass filter, and a band pass filter. In accordance with a control signal output from the waveform converter (18) and the specific frequency band signal selecting unit (17), the operations of the motors are controlled.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a piece of furniture comprising an integrated massage unit. A supporting surface is disposed on said piece of furniture between a body that leans thereagainst and the massage unit. The massage unit comprises at least one massage body. In order to improve the massaging effect and make the massage feel neither too vigorous nor too weak in the user's subjective perception in any adjusted position of the massage unit regardless of the force that is exercised by leaning thereagainst, a support element (10) backing the body relative to the massage body (5) is disposed on the side of the supporting surface (3), which lies opposite the body, in the area of the massage body (5). Said support element (10) is adjustable in such a way that a vertical movement component allowing depth adjustment is created, the vertical movement being in relation to the supporting surface (3).
Abstract:
A massage apparatus is disclosed with a housing and a motor oriented in the housing. An eccentric drive is driven by the motor for oscillating an elongate massage member. In one embodiment a pair of elongate massage members are provided. In another embodiment, a massage formation is limited to a range of linear translation in a first direction and limited to a range of rotational translation relative to the housing.
Abstract:
Transducers and resonators are embedded in body support structures in contact with a user to for the purpose of conveying musical sound energy to a user's body at selected frequencies and in selected patterns. Body support structures comprise beds, pillows, chairs, and other structures typically used to support people. The sound may be audio tones and/or music. The transducers and resonators may be incorporated into a foam component or in a coil spring component of the body support structure. Latex-type foams and beds made with springs are candidate body support structures for receiving transducer's and resonators. Electro-active polymers are also used as transducers.
Abstract:
An upholstered home reclining chair of fabric, vinyl or leather designed with motors and gears in the chair base that will provide low-resistance movement of all extremities either individually or in concert and optionally a reclining position(s). The chair will have pivot points so the joints of the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees and ankles will be in a resting state while mild straps, restraints or pockets secure the limbs for movement of the upper arms, forearms, thighs, calves, and ankles. The limb movements will be in every natural direction of that particular limb. A programmable computer chip can dictate the degree of movement of each extremity and a remote control will activate the movements, heat and massage features.
Abstract:
A massage system that may be incorporated with a dental chair or which may be retrofit to a dental chair to provide massaging motions to a patient positioned in the dental chair.
Abstract:
Several embodiments of supplemental support structures for receiving a non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device are provided. The non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device provides vibrational treatment to patients suffering from postural instability and other conditions, such as cystic fibrosis, as well as paraplegic patients. The non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device is typically employed following a determination that vibrational treatment of a patient's musculoskeletal system and/or internal organs would produce a beneficial result. The supplemental support structures enable the patient to be supported on a vibrational table or unstable vibrating platform of the non-invasive dynamic motion therapy device during treatment.
Abstract:
A method for massaging a body lying on a horizontally leveled upper surface portion of a lie-down massager which includes a pressure applying member, comprises the steps of reciprocating the pressure applying member between a first end and a second end of the upper surface portion in accordance with a predetermined longitudinal stroke of the pressure applying member; and the predetermined longitudinal stroke coordinating along a first axis and a second axis in concurrence with the reciprocation so that the pressure applying member moves to follow a predetermined coaxial curve defined by the first axis and the second axis, wherein the first axis is parallel to the upper surface portion, wherein the second axis is perpendicular to the first axis.
Abstract:
An air valve comprising: an inflow opening through which air flows in; an outflow opening through which the entered air flows out; and an actuator having an elastomer or polymer that can expand and contract when supplied with a voltage and an electrode for applying a voltage on the elastomer or polymer, wherein an outflow route from the inflow opening to the outflow opening is opened and closed by driving the actuator.
