Abstract:
A lubricant composition useful for hot plastic working of metal material comprises 100 parts by weight of graphite particles and 2 to 100 parts by weight of particles of at least one metal oxide selected from oxides of Sn, Pb, Zn, Ca, Cu and Al and having an average size of 0.01 to 20.0 .mu.m.
Abstract:
A squeeze casting powdery mold releasing agent according to this invention consists of a granulated or powdery mixture of a lubricant, an organic polymer and a metal soap; wherein the lubricant is coated with the organic polymer or the metal soap. Therefore, the mold releasing agent allows productions of castings of high quality, in a squeeze casting work, with good workability and without worsening environmental situations.
Abstract:
A novel lubrication blend useful per se as a lubricant or as an additive to form a novel lubricant composition. The lubrication blend consists essentially of a mixture of: (1) at least one complex sulfide of antimony, represented by the formula:Sb.sub.x S.sub.ywherein, x is a number in the range from about 1.7 to about 2.3, and y is a number in the range from about 3.6 to about 4.4, (2) at least one antimony oxide, and (3) at least one lamellar crystalline solid lubricant.
Abstract:
A lubricant composition having improved extreme pressure and antiwear properties comprising a base lubricant and an additive consisting of from about 0.01 to about 30 weight percent of said lubricant of a mixture of a metal thiosulfate and a metal phosphate.
Abstract:
A sliding material used under a boundary lubricating conditions or mixed lubricating condition, and having improved, wear-resistance, low-friction property, and seizure-resistance, and consisting of (a) 10 to less than 69% of polyimide and/or polyamide-imide, from more than 30 to 68% of graphite, and, 1 to less than 30% of polytetrafluroethylene, MoS.sub.2, Pb, and/or BN, or (b) 20 to 90% of polyimide and/or polyamide-imide, and from 0.5 to 20% clay, mullite, silica, and/or alumina, and at least 5% and balance of graphite.
Abstract:
The present invention is a fluid which exhibits excellent electrorheological properties at low current densities, at high temperatures, and in the complete absence of absorbed water or water of hydration. In a preferred embodiment, the fluid comprises lithium hydrazinium sulfate dispersed in silicone oil, and in the presence of an appropriate suspension stabilizing agent.
Abstract:
A water soluble lubricant concentrate adapted to be admixed with water and a lubricant composition made therefrom which exhibit enhanced levels of lubricity and hard water stability and facilitate the transportation of containers on a conveyor. The concentrate and composition include:(a) an anionic surfactant selected from the group consisting of alpha olefin sulfonates, sulfonates of ethoxylated alcohols, alkyl aryl sulfonates, napthalene sulfonates and mixtures thereof;(b) a carrier for the anionic surfactant; and(c) a water soluble salt of aluminum selected from the group consisting of aluminum sulfate, aluminum nitrate, aluminum chloride, polyhydrates of potassium aluminum sulfate/aluminum sulfate complexes and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
A lubricating oil additive is prepared by reacting a triglyceride with a basic nitrogen compound to form a reaction product, reacting said reaction product with an acidic molybdenum compound to form an intermediate reaction product, and reacting said intermediate reaction product with a sulfur compound to produce a lubricating oil additive.
Abstract:
The pasty damping medium is used to damp mechanical and/or acoustic oscillations. The agent contains as a minimum compound a solid finely divided substance or a mixture of solid finely divided substances, as a liquid phase, a silicone oil, a polyglycol, a mineral oil and/or a saturated aliphatic or aromatic aliphatic carboxylic acid ester, an agent for increasing the interfacial surface activity or a surfactant, a finely divided magnesium and/or aluminium silicate and/or a silicon dioxide finely divided as a viscosity stabilizer and possibly a small quantity of an antioxidant. The invention concerns also a method for producing the pasty damping medium and the use of the pasty damping medium in different hydraulic damping devices or for industrial shock absorber or industrial vibration damper.
