Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes a first imager located at a front portion of the vehicle, a second imager located at the rear of the vehicle, a third imager located in a first exterior rearview mirror assembly of the vehicle and a fourth imager located in a second exterior rearview mirror assembly of the vehicle. Responsive to the vehicle being shifted into a reverse gear, (a) video images derived from image data captured by the second imager are displayed on a video display screen and (b) responsive at least in part to processing of captured image data by a common image processor, the driver of the vehicle is alerted to the presence of an object exterior the equipped vehicle. When the vehicle travels forward, the common image processor processes first image data captured by the first imager for at least a lane departure warning system of the vehicle.

Abstract: A novel display device that is highly convenient or reliable is provided. The display device includes a first display element, a second display element, a first transistor, a second transistor, and a third transistor. The first display element includes a liquid crystal layer. The second display element includes a light-emitting layer. The first transistor has a function of selecting the first display element. The second transistor has a function of selecting the second display element. The third transistor has a function of controlling the driving of the second display element. The first transistor and the second transistor are formed over the same surface. The third transistor is formed above the first transistor and the second transistor and includes one of a source electrode and a drain electrode of the second transistor as a gate electrode.

Abstract: An emissive display system includes an electro-optic device having a first substantially transparent substrate including first and second surfaces. At least one of the first and second surfaces includes a first electrically conductive layer. A second substantially transparent substrate includes third and fourth surfaces, at least one including a second electrically conductive layer. A primary seal between the second and third surfaces includes a first epoxy layer and a second epoxy layer. A gasket is disposed between the first and second epoxy layers. The seal and the first and second substrates define a substantially hermetic cavity therebetween. An electro-optic medium is disposed in the cavity and is variably transmissive such that the electro-optic device is operable between substantially clear and darkened states. A substantially transparent light emitting display is disposed adjacent to the electro-optic device, which is converted to the darkened state when the light emitting display is emitting light.

Abstract: The present invention provides a color filter and a liquid crystal display. The color filter comprises a substrate, and a color resist layer and a black matrix positioned on the substrate, and the color resist layer comprises a plurality of pixel areas aligned in array, and the plurality of pixel areas are separated by the black matrix, and the pixel area comprises a sub pixel main area and a sub pixel sub area, and two sides of the sub pixel sub area are respectively provided with a first transparent electrode and a second transparent electrode electrically coupled thereto; the sub pixel sub area is made by electrochromic material, and by adjusting voltage signals applied to the two sides of the sub pixel sub area with the first transparent electrode and the second transparent electrode, color variation of the sub pixel sub area is controlled to achieve switch of the color filter between high color saturation and high brightness display modes. The liquid crystal panel of the present invention is provided with the color filter capable of achieving switch of the color filter between high color saturation and high brightness display modes to satisfy the display requirement of high color saturation and high brightness at the same time.

A dimmer includes a stack of two or more light control layers that change a transmittance to incident light by controlling an applied voltage in the incident direction of the incident light. A video display device includes a video generator that generates picture light; a video projector that projects the picture light as a virtual image in the field of view of a user; the dimmer disposed on the opposite side of the projecting side of the video projector to the user for adjusting the light quantity of external light to be entered to a user's eye through the video projector; and a light controller that controls the dimmer suitable for the luminosity of external light detected at an external light detector.
