Abstract:
A wearable device 100 for controlling a controllable device 104 based on an interaction with an object 102 is disclosed. The wearable device 100 comprises a device detection unit 106 for detecting proximity of the object 102, an action detection unit 112 for detecting an action indicative of an interaction of a user wearing the wearable device 100 with the object 102 and a processing unit 108 for generating a control command for controlling the controllable device 104 based on the detected proximity of the object 102 and based on the action indicative of an interaction with the object 102. The wearable device 100 further comprises a communication unit 110 for sending the control command to the controllable device 104. Thereby, the wearable device 100 is able to detect the use of the object 102 and adjust the control parameters of the controllable device 104 to create context- related use conditions. This may improve the control of the controllable device 104 and this may offer new interaction possibilities between the wearable device 100, the controllable device 104 and the object 102.
Abstract:
An IR repeater includes a receiver portion for receiving an IR light signal representing a coded command modulated by a modulating signal and a transmitter portion, electrically coupled to the receiver portion to generate an IR light signal corresponding to the coded signal received by the receiver portion. A mounting structure mounts the receiver portion outside an opaque object and mounts the transmitter portion inside the opaque object.
Abstract:
A remote control method and an apparatus for home appliances, wherein a remote controller performs situation recognition using sensors and automatically controls home appliances without a control message from a portable device when communication with the portable device is not possible, are provided. The remote control method is designed for a remote controller managing home appliances installed in a home. The remote control method includes receiving a remote control request from a portable device capable of remotely controlling one or more home appliances, performing, upon reception of the remote control request, situation recognition with respect to the home appliances, and controlling operations of the home appliances based on situation recognition results.
Abstract:
A remote control system and method having reduced vulnerability to noise. In an environment having noise at a frequency of infrared signals transmitted by a remote controller, errors and malfunctions in a remote control receiving device such as a set top box are controlled by selectively transmitting an entire code including header pulses and data pulses, or a repeat code including header pulses, data pulses and repeater pulses from the remote controller, and receiving and using the entire code or repeat code at the remote receiving device.
Abstract:
A 3D gesture based interface for controlling audio information in flight deck applications is provided. The system and method utilize a set of simple, intuitive 3D gestures, and unburden the pilot of searching for specific audio device controls. The system and method are intuitive and enable the pilot to quickly silence or subdue non-essential audio information, before interfering with essential audio information.
Abstract:
Provided is a lighting apparatus and a method for controlling the same using a mobile device. A lighting system may include a mobile terminal, a hub configured to communicate with the mobile terminal, and an LED lamp configured to communicate with the hub. The mobile terminal may be configured to display an image captured or focused using a camera at the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal may transfer to the hub information corresponding to a selection of a region of the image. The hub may provide a wireless signal corresponding to the information received from the mobile terminal for changing a color of light emitted by the LED lamp. The LED lamp may be controlled based on the ZigBee communication protocol.
Abstract:
A method of remotely controlling electrical appliances includes the steps of: inputting ID codes of a plurality of electrical appliances into a remote control device; selecting one of the electrical appliances and a corresponding operating command on the remote control device; generating a Wi-Fi signal to carry the first packet; transmitting the Wi-Fi signal to a repeater; converting the first packet carried thereby into a second packet; generating a RF signal to carry the second packet; transmitting the RF signal to the electrical appliances; comparing a ID code kept in a second ID code field of the second packet to the ID codes of the electrical appliances. Finally, the electrical appliance which has the matched ID code performs an operation according to an operating command in a second data field of the second packet.
Abstract:
A remote control framework enables a plurality of target devices to be controlled by a plurality of remote control devices irrespective of bearer types. In a preferred embodiment any target device may also act as a control device and any control device may also act as a target device. The framework also enables any application running on any target device to be controlled by any controller device.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a remote control system for electric devices, a signal conversion device, and a control method for signal conversion devices. The signal conversion device may control an electric device according to a remote control signal including an identification code and a control command. The signal conversion device may include a wireless receiving module, a control module, and a wireless transmission module. The wireless receiving module may receive the remote control signal. The control module may determine whether the identification code matches a default identification code stored in the signal conversion device, to decide whether to convert the control command to a control signal. The wireless transmission module may transmit the control signal to the electric device such that the electric device operates according to the control signal.
Abstract:
An example playback device includes a signal detector, a signal emitter, and a communication interface. Audio content corresponding to video content being displayed on a display device is received via the communication interface device. The audio content is played. While playing the audio content, a first signal is received via the signal detector from a control device configured to control the display device. A second signal is generated based on the first signal and the second signal is emitted via the signal emitter. The display device receives at a signal receiver of the display device the first signal from the control device and the second signal at substantially the same time.
