Abstract:
Systems, methods and devices for reducing a price of an electronic device by allowing a device manufacturer to control digital advertising on the electronic device are disclosed. Such systems, methods, and devices may include presenting content on a display, the content having an embedded commercial. Further, embodiments may include detecting the embedded commercial with a screening engine and a screening circuit and providing the screening engine and screening circuit with device advertisement (AD) content by the AD content engine. Additional embodiments may include replacing the embedded commercial with the device AD content by the screening engine and screening circuit. Moreover, selecting the device AD is based on user information by the AD content engine as well as tracking the viewing of the AD content by a tracking module.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for connecting a plurality of mobile devices in a videoconference over a cellular network via a videoconferencing server. At least one of the mobile devices includes a camera to capture a video of a participant in the videoconference. The video is transmitted to the videoconferencing server on the cellular network. The videoconferencing server edits the video and sends the edited video to receiving mobile devices in real-time. The receiving mobile devices output the video as a projection by using an internal mobile projector or transmit the video to an external display device. A sending mobile device may also act as a receiving mobile device, such that each of the participants may view video of other participants in his/her own background/environment while communicating with the other participants. In some variations, the videoconferencing server removes the background from the video and may replace the background such that the images of participants are placed in front of a new background or in each other's background.
Abstract:
The present invention is a system that receives data in different formats from different devices/applications in the format native to the devices/applications and fuses the data into a common shared audio/video collaborative environment including a composite display showing the data from the different sources in different areas of the display and composite audio. The common environment is presented to users who can be at remote locations. The users are allowed to supply a control input for the different device data sources and the control input is mapped back to the source, thereby controlling the source. The location of the control input on the remote display is mapped to the storage area for that portion of the display and the control data is transmitted to the corresponding device/application. The fusion system converts the data from the different sources/applications into a common format and stores the converted data from the different sources in a shared memory with each source allocated a different area in the memory. A combined window like composite representation of the data is produced and also stored in the memory. The combined representation is transmitted to and can be controlled by the users.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for monitoring an interaction between a caller and an automated voice response (AVR) system is provided. An audio communication from a caller is processed by executing an AVR script, which includes a plurality of instructions. A visual representation of the audio communication is presented substantially simultaneously with the audio communication to an agent based on the AVR script. The visual representation includes at least one field to be populated with information obtained from the caller and the information populated in the field can be updated by the agent.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing the capability to simultaneously manage multiple conference calls, move participants in the conference calls from one conference call to another and subdivide or join multiple conference calls together, and the like, wherein a participant seeking to initiate conference calls does so at his or her endpoint by selecting conference call identifiers, where the identifiers identify conference calls to be created. The initiating participant then selects the participants to be associated with the particular calls and confirms the selection. Upon confirmation of the selection, the conference calls among the selected participants are established.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal and an operating method thereof are provided. The operating method includes during the transmission or reception of a communication event between the mobile terminal and a counterpart mobile terminal, obtaining location information of the counterpart mobile terminal; obtaining a map of a first region corresponding to the location information of the counterpart mobile terminal; and displaying at least part of the map of the first region on a display screen indicating that the transmission or reception of the communication event is in progress. Therefore, it is possible for a user to easily identify the location of the counterpart mobile terminal from, for example, a ‘call waiting’ or ‘call connected’ screen, during the transmission or reception of the communication event.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for prompting an agent of an automatic contact distributor during a customer service contact with a client. The method includes the steps of detecting a state of the customer service contact with the client via operation of a terminal of the agent; selecting a set of possible responses for use by the agent from a plurality of sets of possible responses that are appropriate to the detected state of the customer service contact and visually prompting the agent with the selected set of possible responses.
Abstract:
A system for exchanging GPS or other position data between wireless devices for purposes of group activities, child location monitoring, work group coordination, dispatching of employees etc. Cell phones and other wireless devices with GPS receivers have loaded therein a Buddy Watch application and a TalkControl application. The Buddy Watch application communicates with the GPS receiver and other wireless devices operated by buddies registered in the users phone as part of buddy groups or individually. GPS position data and historical GPS position data can be exchanged between cell phones of buddies and instant buddies such as tow truck drivers via a buddy watch server. Emergency monitoring services can be set up with notifications to programmable individuals in case an individual does not respond. Positions and tracks can be displayed. TalkControl simplifies and automates the process of joining talk groups for walkie talkie services such as that provided by Nextel.
Abstract:
A system and method supporting extended network access notification via a broadband access gateway is disclosed. A representative embodiment of the present invention may comprise a wireless interface and may be capable of exchanging multimedia communication between the wireless interface and a broadband network. The gateway may support multimedia communication via access devices that may seamlessly hand off from a wireless wide area network to a personal area network supported by the wireless interface. The hand off may be coordinated by the gateway and the wireless wide area network via the broadband network. A user of an access device may be notified when such a hand off has been automatically initiated, and a user may configure aspects of such hand offs.
Abstract:
During a telephone call between a telephone user and an interactive response system, the user is enabled to use only his voice and key presses on a numeric keypad of his telephone to interactively specify information that can be used to control delivery of content to a visual display of, or a storage medium accessible by, a target telephone which may be a land-line phone, a mobile phone, or some other device acting as a telecommunications device. The target telephone has a visual display or a memory to display or store the delivered content, which may include ringtones, text messages, games, wallpapers, ring-back tones, video clips, web pages, applications, or links to information. The user is enabled to engage in an interaction with the response system that is representative of an interaction between the user and a server connected to the Internet. On behalf of the user, a separate interaction is conducted with the server through the Internet based on the representative interaction. Information is received that can be used to identify the user and the target device. Based on the received information, user authentication information is transmitted to the user, the authentication information is received from the user, and the user is allowed to access a service.
