Abstract:
A method for transmitting control information may include providing formatting rules that define a format for transmission of the control information to a base station via a control signaling channel. The control information may include a channel quality indicator (CQI), an acknowledgement/non-acknowledgement (ACK/NACK), a pre-coding matrix indicator (PMI), and rank information. The method may also include providing combination rules as part of the formatting rules. The combination rules may define how the CQI, the ACK/NACK, the PMI, and the rank information are combined for transmission on the control signaling channel. The method may also include transmitting the control information to the base station via the control signaling channel in accordance with the defined formatting rules.
Abstract:
Provided is a wireless communication apparatus by which the maximum throughput can be obtained while satisfying required reception qualities in multicarrier communication. In the apparatus, a coding section (101) performs error correction coding to all of the plurality of resource blocks at a same coding rate, modulating sections (103-1 to 103-n) generate data symbols by modulating coding data for each of the resource blocks (1 to n), and repetition sections (104-1 to 104-n) repeat the data symbols inputted from the modulation section (103) for each of the resource blocks (1 to n) to generate a plurality of same data symbols. Namely, while the coding rate is same in all of the resource blocks, modulation system and the number of repetitions differ by resource block.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for switching between an AMC mode and a diversity mode adaptively according to a channel environment in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. According to the present invention, a transmitter (a base station) determines a transmission mode according to frequency-domain and time-domain channel measurement information received from a receiver (a mobile station). If the transmission mode is the AMC mode, the transmitter selects a coding and modulation scheme according to a frequency-domain CQI received from the receiver. If the transmission mode is a diversity mode, the transmitter selects a predetermined coding and modulation scheme.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a PilotReport message is provided, comprising generating the PilotReport message and determining if an Active Set Size value is greater than one. In an embodiment, the access terminal will send a PilotReport message if one of the following conditions occurs: If the Active Set Size is greater than one, and EnhancedPilotReportEnabled=1, and The strength of a pilot in the active set has changed by more than an EnhancedPilotReportThreshold since the last PilotReport was sent. If the Active Set Size is one, and EnhancedPilot ReportEnabled=1, and The strongest current non-active pilot (for example, pilot j) has strength more than the EnhancedPilotReportRatio fraction of the total interference, and The strength of pilot j is more than EnhancedPilotReportThreshold away than the strength of the second strongest pilot at the time the last pilot report was sent.
