Abstract: A drive control circuit that controls operations of liquid crystal drive circuits (a gate driver and a source driver) is provided with a counter that counts a polarity bias value that represents polarity bias of a data voltage applied to liquid crystal capacitance. During a scan frame period in which the polarity bias value is greater than a predetermined upper limit at a start of input of one frame of the image signal, the drive control circuit controls operations of the liquid crystal drive circuits so that the polarity bias value becomes smaller. During a scan frame period in which the polarity bias value is smaller than a predetermined lower limit at the start of input of one frame of the image signal, the drive control circuit controls the operations of the liquid crystal drive circuits so that the polarity bias value becomes larger.

Abstract: A phased array antenna with excellent reliability is provided. The phased array antenna includes a printed circuit board 10 including a plurality of first terminals, a TFT substrate 50 including a plurality of second terminals and being arranged to face the printed circuit board 10, and a plurality of conductors 30 connecting the first terminals and the second terminals, respectively. The printed circuit board includes a plurality of transmission/reception electrodes 12, and beamforming ICs 20 receiving control signals from the TFT substrate via the first terminals and controlling phases of signals transmitted/received by transmission/reception electrodes based on the control signals. The TFT substrate includes a plurality of control circuits 90 that include TFTs and generate control signals for controlling the beamforming ICs, and a flattening multilayer 70 that covers the plurality of control circuits, wherein the flattening multilayer 70 include a plurality of recessed portions 80 each of which has an opening on a top face.

Abstract: A transflective liquid crystal display device includes a first polarizer, a first phase difference layer, a first substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a second substrate, a second phase difference layer, and a second polarizer. The first substrate includes a reflective layer, a pair of electrodes configured to generate a transverse electrical field in the liquid crystal layer, and a first horizontal alignment film. The second substrate includes a second horizontal alignment film. The first phase difference layer includes a first λ/2 plate and a first λ/4 plate. The second phase difference layer includes a second λ/2 plate and a second λ/4 plate. At least one of the first phase difference layer and the second phase difference layer further includes a positive C plate. The liquid crystal layer includes a liquid crystal material having a negative-type anisotropy of dielectric constant and takes a twist alignment when no voltage is applied. Each of pixels includes a reflective region in which light is reflected by the reflective layer to perform display and a transmissive region in which light is transmitted to perform display.
