    Abstract: Systems, assemblies, and methods for detecting changes in polarization states are described. Example systems may include a light receiving unit including a sensor and a receiving polarizer. The sensor is configured to sense light from a polarized light source deflected through the receiving polarizer by a light directing article. The sensor is configured to generate a signal indicative a received polarization state of light deflected by the light directing articles. Such systems may be coupled to vehicles and may be useful for sensor-detectable signs, indicia, and markings to facilitate automated or assisted vehicular transport.

    Abstract: An amphiphilic polymer comprising: at least 10 wt-% monomeric units comprising alkylene oxide moieties, wherein a majority of the alkylene oxide moieties are ethylene oxide moieties; monomeric units comprising hexafluoropropylene oxide oligomeric moieties having the formula C3F7O—(CF(CF3)CF2O)aCF(CF3)—C(O)N(H)-Q-, wherein Q is a linking group with at least one carbon atom, and “a” is at least 5; and monomeric units comprising pendant groups selected from phosphate groups, phosphonate groups, sulfonate groups, and combinations thereof; wherein the amphiphilic polymer is water dispersible; aqueous coating compositions containing the amphiphilic polymer; and methods of treating a hard surface.

    Abstract: The invention provides a frameless photo-energy assembly including a photo-energy converter, wherein an edge of the photo-energy converter is sealed by an adhesive tape, comprising an adhering layer for adhesion and cushioning; and an aging-resistant protective layer. The adhering layer is used to contact the edge of an article and comprises: a substrate layer; optionally, a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer situated at both sides of the substrate layer oppositely, wherein the first adhesive layer being used to be contact with the article. The aging-resistant protective layer is situated on the adhering layer, which comprises: an optional primer layer, which is situated on the adhering layer; and a film layer, which is situated on either the primer layer or the substrate or the second adhesive layer. The invention further provides an adhesive tape for sealing an edge of an article and an article made of the assembly.
