Abstract:
A connector for coupling a medical laser tool to a laser has a housing with coupling fitting at one end which is plugged into a laser receptacle and with a light conductor cable connection at the other end. The light conductor cable in turn is connected to the laser tool. The coupling fitting includes, in addition to the optical coupling element, heavy and light duty electrical contact members for an electrical power and data transmission and a gas conduit coupling for a gas transmission through the connector.
Abstract:
A life support system such as a heart-lung machine may include a plurality of medical devices a control panel and an excellent control position. The control panel may have separate control elements for operating the medical devices. The control panel may be constructed protruding essentially flat over a floor area of the majority of the medical devices. The control panel may be constructed to protrude in such a manner, that a control element, aligned only with a particular device and with the control position, is assigned to each device.

A temperature-resistant glass or glass-ceramic pane is provided. The pane includes a substrate and a tin-oxide layer comprising antimony deposited on the substrate.
Abstract:
A display and control device for medical equipment, comprising several identically configured display/control units, which are located on a base unit. The base unit is equipped with a bus, to which the display/control units and components of the medical equipment are connected. The base unit comprises connection devices, which are used to connect the display/control units to the bus. Once a display/control unit has been connected, a configuration unit transmits configuration data to the display/control unit and only then defines which function the display/control unit is to fulfill. This permits defective display/control units to be simply replaced. The construction of the display/control units is likewise simple and not susceptible to malfunctions.
Abstract:
A transparent glass or glass ceramic pane is provided that includes a glass or glass ceramic substrate having a thermal expansion coefficient a of less than 4.2 and an infrared radiation-reflecting layer, formed as a single-layer reflection layer and having a refractive index greater than 2.2.
Abstract:
In order to improve the emptying of residual contents from containers, such as pharmaceutical packaging, the invention provides corresponding substrates with a hydrophobic coating. Provided for this purpose is a composite material which comprises a substrate and a coating deposited on it, which forms at least a part of the surface of the coated substrate, with the coating having a compound containing the elements C, O, and H, with further elements, apart from Si, C, H, having a content of less than 10 at %, preferably less than 5 at %, characterized in that this compound has a composition SiOxCyHz, in which x is at most 1.2.

Abstract:
A method of detecting cardiac interval signals in cardiologic devices comprises the following method steps: time-resolved detection of cardiac events which are representative of the cardiac intervals; determination of the respective cardiac interval values between two successive cardiac events; statistical evaluation of a certain number of successive cardiac interval values; and individual comparison of the certain number of cardiac interval values with each other such that individual cardiac interval values which deviate significantly from cardiac interval values that occur there-before and there-after are recognized as faulty measurements and corrected.
Abstract:
A light guide, particularly for medical instruments with a light guide fiber, which is surrounded, if needed, by a protective jacket, a sleeve which surrounds the light guide fiber at a distance therefrom and consists of one or several tubes and a feeding unit on one side of the light guide for the feeding of light radiation into the light guide fiber. The light guide fiber and a tube of the sleeve are mounted in the feeding unit, while the other end of the light guide fiber is mounted in the tube of the sleeve. A length compensating element that can change its length axially but is largely not expandable radially, is set in the sleeve to prevent stresses acting longitudinally on the sleeve and light guide fiber due to bending, especially during the coiling of the light guide fiber.
