Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insultive housing, a plurality of conductive terminals retained in the insultive housing and a metal frame retained in the insultive housing. The insultive housing defines two sidewalls extending along a longitudinal direction and two endwalls connected to the longitudinal ends of the sidewalls. The metal frame is integrally formed in the insulative housing and defines an elongated flat portion and a pair of fixing portions extending downwardly from both longitudinal ends of the flat portion, the flat portion is embedded into an upper portion of the insulative housing.

Abstract: A plug connector mateable with the receptacle connector, includes an insulative housing enclosed in a metallic shell, defining a receiving cavity to receive the mating tongue, and equipped with a plurality of contacts on opposite sides. A pair of mounting ears are located on two opposite lateral ends of the housing in a transverse direction. A securing/shield plates forms a pair of locking heads extending into two opposite lateral sides of the receiving cavity to lock with a shielding plate embedded within a mating tongue of the complementary receptacle connector during mating. Abstract: A plug connector includes an insulative plug housing with a plurality of plug contacts retained thereto. The plug housing forms a plug mating portion with a mating surface thereon. The plug contacts include front blade contacting sections extending beyond the mating surface and are arranged along the first direction with one another. Viewed along the first direction, the mating surface is curved with a bulged middle section. The receptacle connector includes a receptacle housing with a plurality of receptacle contacts retained thereto. The receptacle housing forms therein a mating cavity in which a receptacle mating portion extends along the mating direction wherein the receptacle mating portion forms a mating face behind which the receptacle contacts are located. During mating, the plug mating portion is snugly received within the mating cavity with the mating surface of the plug connector is spaced from the mating face of the receptacle connector.

Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a plug connector and a receptacle connector. A plug connector includes an insulative plug housing and a plurality of blade type male contacts retained in the plug housing. Each of the blade type male contacts includes a contacting section composed of two opposite primary mating planes and two opposite side locking planes. Correspondingly, a receptacle connector includes an insulative receptacle housing and a plurality of clip type female contacts retained in the receptacle housing. Each of the clip type female contacts includes a pair of contacting portions sandwiching the two opposite primary mating planes of the corresponding blade type male contact therebetween in a first horizontal direction. A metallic blade type locking piece retained in the receptacle housing, includes a pair of locking arms sandwiching the two opposite side locking planes therebetween in a second horizontal direction perpendicular to the first horizontal direction.

Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative housing and a number of terminals retained in the insulative housing. The insulative housing defines a slot going through a front surface thereof to receive an electrical card. Each terminal includes a contacting portion extending into the slot and a tail extending out of the insulating housing. The insulative housing has a retaining wall above the slot. The card edge connector further includes a nut retained in the retaining wall, and cooperating with an external retaining member to fix the heat dissipation module to the insulative housing.
