    Abstract: A device for measuring a gap and a step between two panels is disclosed. The device includes a laser radiating unit for emitting laser beam over a first panel and a second panel and in a first linear pattern across a gap between a first panel and a second panel. The device further includes a lighting unit for emitting a non-laser light beam over a first panel and a second panel and in a second linear pattern overlapping the first pattern across the gap between the first and the second panel. The system further comprises a camera for capturing images of the first linear pattern of laser and the second linear pattern of non-laser light projected over the first panel and the second panel. The system analyzes at least one image captured from the camera and estimates a width of the gap between the first and second panels.

    Abstract: A door regulation apparatus positions a door mounted in a freely rotatably state in a vehicle body at a reference position in a gap/step measuring process, makes a step of a preset portion of the door to zero, and includes: i) a frame installed outside of a vehicle body transfer line; ii) a moving member reciprocating in the frame through a driving unit; iii) a clamping unit installed in the moving member vacuum adsorbs a skin surface of the door; iv) a sensor installed in the clamping unit senses a vacuum pressure operating at the skin surface; v) a vision photographing unit installed in the moving member photographs a preset portion of the door; and iv) a control unit analyzes and processes a sensing signal from the sensor and vision data that acquires from the vision photographing unit to control the driving unit.

    Abstract: A gap/height difference measurement system for a vehicle may include a reflection light sensing unit on a the transportation conveyor line and sensing reflection light reflected from the vehicle body transported depending on illuminance of an illumination, a measurement robot measuring the gap and the height difference between the vehicle body and each panel that move while being installed at both sides of the transportation conveyor line in a width direction of the vehicle body at one side spaced from the reflection light sensing unit in a movement direction of the vehicle body, and a controller receiving a signal sensed by the reflection light sensing unit and comparing the received signal with a predetermined value to control the illuminance of the illumination and outputting a specification depending on a vehicle type of the vehicle body transported to the measurement robot to control the measurement robot.

    Abstract: Provided are a system and method for measuring a vehicle gap or step, where a vehicle body to which a hood, a door, and a trunk lid are assembled is seated on a carrier and moved along transfer lines. The system may be installed over the transfer lines and may include one or more door regulating units attached between the vehicle body and the door, upper rails in both sides above a workplace corresponding to the transfer lines, a moving frame movable below the upper rails, a forward/backward moving unit above the moving frame, a horizontal moving unit to move installation frames, a vertical moving unit in the installation frames to reciprocally move a sliding plate upwardly and downwardly, a measurement module movable and rotatable to measure the gap or the step, and an electronic tag on a roof of the vehicle body.
