    Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for extending association beamforming training are disclosed. An apparatus is disclosed including processing circuitry. The processing circuitry being configured to decode an enhanced directional multi-gigabit (EDMG) beacon comprising a multiplier field and a length field of an association beamforming training (A-BFT) interval. The processing circuitry may be further configured to determine a count of sector sweep (SSW) slots based on a value of the multiplier field and a value of the length field of the A-BFT interval, and select a SSW slot of the count of SSW slots. The processing circuitry may be further configured to encode a SSW frame, and configure the station to transmit the SSW frame during the selected slot of the count of SSW slots.

    Abstract: A first user equipment (UE) operable to perform wireless wide area network (WWAN) operator-assisted device-to-device (D2D) communications with a second UE is disclosed. The first UE can process D2D discovery and wireless local area network (WLAN) configuration information received from a WWAN when the first UE and the second UE are within a WLAN direct communications range. The first UE can initiate operator-assisted WLAN direct communications with the second UE within the WLAN direct communications range using the D2D discovery and WLAN configuration information received from the WWAN.

    Abstract: Embodiments of computer-implemented methods, systems, computing devices, and computer-readable media are described herein for opportunistically transitioning service flows of mobile devices between being direct and indirect.     Abstract: Device-to-device (D2D) contention management systems and methods provide managed offloading of cellular network traffic through a contention-based network. For each link in a group of links between nodes in the contention-based network, a link cost is calculated to determine a number of potential links that may interfere with the link, if activated. Each link is evaluated in the order of ascending link cost to determine whether it complies with predefined conditions and whether activating the link increases or decreases D2D network throughput. If the link increases throughput, the link is activated.
