Abstract: A communication apparatus that includes an antenna array comprising a plurality of antenna elements, a plurality of thermoelectric devices distributed across the plurality of antenna element of the antenna array, each of the plurality of thermoelectric devices covers a different subset of a plurality of subsets of the plurality of antenna elements, and a processor coupled to the antenna array and the plurality of thermoelectric devices. The processor detects variation in power consumption in the plurality of antenna elements of the antenna array on a basis of a change in a performance state of the plurality of antenna elements, and controls the plurality of thermoelectric devices to substantially equalize a temperature associated with the plurality of antenna elements for substantial equalization of the performance state of the plurality of antenna elements, where the plurality of thermoelectric devices is controlled based on the detected variation in the power consumption.

Abstract: A first edge device includes a processor that communicates position information of the first edge device and a time-of-day. Based on the time-of-day and a specific initial access information, the processors sets: a first beam index for an uplink communication and a second beam index for a downlink communication, a specific physical cell identity indicating a first base station to which the first edge device is to be connected, a first wireless carrier network (WCN) from amongst a plurality of different WCNs at the edge device, and a beam configuration to service one or more user equipment in a surrounding area of the first edge device. The processor obtains control signals from the central cloud server and configures parameters of amplifier gains and phase responses associated with a first antenna array or a second antenna array of the first edge device, based on the obtained control signals.

Abstract: An edge device includes a first antenna array, control circuitry, and a sensing radar communicatively coupled to the control circuitry, where the sensing radar senses a surrounding area of the edge device. Abstract: An edge device includes a first antenna array and a control circuitry that senses a surrounding of the edge device to recognize a user equipment (UE) in motion as valid to receive services from the edge device. A position of the UE in motion from the edge device is tracked to execute beamforming for directing a first beam of radio frequency (RF) signal having a signal strength greater than a threshold to the UE in motion. A first portion of the first antenna array is used to sense the surrounding area and one or more second portions of the first antenna array is used for the beamforming to direct the first beam of RF signal in a defined radiation pattern. Further, the defined radiation pattern of the first beam of RF signal is dynamically updated based on a change in a position of the UE in motion.

Abstract: A communication system includes a central cloud server that predicts a first travel path of a first edge device in motion. The first edge device is communicatively coupled to a first base station via a primary wireless connectivity option. The central cloud server determines a set of alternative wireless connectivity options to be made available to first edge device in advance for predicted first travel path. Each of the set of alternative wireless connectivity options includes a different specific initial access information. The set of alternative wireless connectivity options are pre-loaded at first edge device to cause first edge device to maintain a cellular connectivity with at least one of a plurality of base stations, where one or more alternative wireless connectivity options from the set of alternative wireless connectivity options are configured to be triggered along predicted first travel path bypassing an initial access-search at first edge device.

Adaptive cooling is applied by each thermoelectric device on different subsets of antenna elements such that performance breakdowns due to heating of a plurality of chips associated with the different subsets of antenna elements is reduced.

Abstract: A communication system includes a first inference server that obtains subset of information from a connectivity enhanced database of a central cloud server based on a geographical zone served by the first inference server. The first inference server receives a real-time or a near real-time request from a road-side unit (RSU) device within the geographical zone, where the request includes input features corresponding to sensing information from a vehicle. Based on the sensing information, the first inference server further causes a first edge device on the vehicle to connect to the RSU device to perform uplink and downlink communication with high throughput without any interruptions. Further, the first inference server obtains updated sensing information from the first edge device and communicates updated initial access information to the first edge device directly or via the RSU device to maintain a connectivity of the first edge device to a base station.
