Abstract:
Systems and methods of the present invention allow for a portal website further comprising an online community, storage areas, additional software, email access, etc. accessible via a direct access domain or links which manipulate a domain name to allow a registrant to access a remote computer or server in a hosting provider's data center.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for multi-spectral dual balanced imaging is provided. The apparatus includes: (a) a first member operable to produce from incident light a first band having first band wavelengths and a second band; and (b) a second member operable to produce from the second band a third band having wavelengths shorter than the first band wavelengths, excluding the first band wavelengths and having wavelengths longer than the first band wavelengths. The method involves: (a) producing from incident light a first band having first band wavelengths and a second band; and (b) producing from the second band a third band having wavelengths shorter than the first band wavelengths, excluding the first band wavelengths and having wavelengths longer than the first band wavelengths.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of the present invention allow for a thick client which may be provided with a domain name in a partnership between a hosting provider, an ISP and/or a thick client retailer. The client may be used to access a remote computer or server in the hosting provider's data center.
Abstract:
The present invention provides improved methods for organizing emails in folders. An Email User may create an original email or a reply email. One or more folders may be chosen for storing the email. The folder(s) are preferably chosen by the Email User from a drop-down menu. In other embodiments, the folder(s) may be chosen by an email system or a Client-based email application based on the recipients, sender or subject matter of the emails. For reply emails, an option may be provided for storing either the original email or the reply email (which will typically include the text of the original email) in the chosen folder(s). The Email User may then select a Send/File option thereby causing the email to be transmitted to the recipient(s), stored in the chosen folder(s), and preferably blocked or deleted from the default sent email folder.
Abstract:
A display system is disclosed. The display system includes a base, a screen movably coupled to the base, and a control unit coupled to the screen. The control unit adjusts the screen to a position based on at least one condition. The at least one condition can be an attribute such as a height or an eye position. According to the system and method disclosed herein, the display system increases the convenience of a user by automatically adjusting the screen to an optimal position for the user. As a result, improved readability of the screen is achieved while simplifying the use of the display system.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for customizing the display of weather radar at a client. A weather information system allows a user at a client to add custom locations to the radar display and to customize the color scale used to represent the quantities measured or derived by the radar. A server stores the user information and acquires weather information, which is sent to the client upon request. The client executes software that communicates with the server and renders the information on the client's display unit in accordance with the preselected custom features.
Abstract:
Apparatus for rounding of a character produced as a character segment matrix pattern for display on a raster scanned display in which a read-only memory storing the character segment matrix patterns for the characters to be displayed is arranged to produce the entire matrix pattern for a selected character in parallel at any one time. A parallel gating means selects from the matrix pattern a selected row of the matrix and also the immediately preceding row or the immediately following row depending upon which is required at the time for character rounding. The bits of the selected row are applied in parallel to a first shifting register and the bits of both rows produced by the gating means are applied in parallel to a character rounding logic circuit which is arranged to detect the presence of diagonal lines in the character and produce the appropriate rounding elements. The rounding elements are applied in parallel to a second shifting register and the two shifting registers are read out in timed relationship to one another so that their outputs can be combined to produce a video signal representing a rounded character. The parallel gating means receives in addition to a character row address a further input which determines whether it is the immediately preceding or the immediately following row which produces the second output. The signal applied to the further input indicates whether the field of the raster being scanned consists of odd or even lines, or in the case of a double height character it consists of the least significant bit of the character row address.
Abstract:
An analog signal storage system wherein degenerate analog signal storage devices may be used for relatively long time analog data storage. A recirculating charge transfer device shift register is used to store the analog data and a variable gain amplifier is included in a recirculation path between the shift register output and input. The gain of this amplifier is periodically adjusted so as to maintain the overall loop gain of the system at unity. The gain control signal is produced by comparing the amplitudes of a reference signal pulse before and after propagation through the shift register. Based on this comparison, a control signal is generated and applied to adjust the gain of the variable gain amplifier in a sense tending to compensate for signal loss due to propagation through the shift register. The output of the shift register may be strobed to read out analog signal data for external utilization at a lower rate than the propagation rate through the shift register.

Abstract:
The present inventions may be implemented by tools enabling preferred domain positioning on a registration website. An example may comprise a computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by a server computer, cause the server to receive a bid from a registry seeking such preferred placement for a domain (that may be administered by the registry), generate a quality score for the domain, and determine the preferred placement based upon the bid and the quality score.
