Abstract:
In a method for producing a three-dimensionally shaped object, (i) a solidified layer is formed by irradiating a light beam on a specified portion of a powder layer to sinter or melt the specified portion. Further, (ii) another solidified layer is formed by placing a new powder layer on the solidified layer obtained in step (i), and irradiating the light beam on a specified portion of the new powder layer to sinter or melt the specified portion of the new powder layer. The steps (i) and (ii) are repeated to produce a three-dimensionally shaped object. In the method, a gas is supplied to a mirror used in scanning the light beam.
Abstract:
In a method for producing a three-dimensionally shaped object, a powder layer is formed by feeding a powdery material to a substrate and a solidified layer is formed by irradiating a light beam on a specified portion of the powder layer to sinter or melt the specified portion of the powder layer. A three-dimensionally shaped object having a plurality of solidified layers laminated one above another is obtained by repeating the powder layer formation and the solidified -layer formation. In the method, a stress is preliminarily applied to the substrate to reduce the amount of deformation of the substrate after production of the shaped object prior to the powder layer forming step.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for hydroprocessing a heavy hydrocarbon oil, comprising bringing a heavy hydrocarbon oil into contact with hydroprocessing catalyst I in the presence of hydrogen in a first stage, after which the effluent of the first stage is contacted in whole or in part with hydroprocessing catalyst II in the presence of hydrogen in a second stage. The method according to the invention combines efficient contaminant removal with high cracking rate and low sediment formation. The invention also pertains to the combination of catalysts.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a database load alleviation system and load alleviation program which balance load by interpreting queries and distributing queries which enable load balancing to database servers. In a database load alleviation system, a query-interpretive load balancer 1 interprets queries received from a user terminal 10, and judges whether the queries enable load balancing. Queries enabling load balancing are each distributed in sequence to one among the database servers 2-1 to 2-n in accordance with a load balancing algorithm, to balance the load. On the other hand, in the case of queries which do not enable load balancing such as a query which performs data writing, the query is replicated, and replicas are transmitted to all database servers 2-1 to 2-n, to maintain database consistency.
Abstract:
A metal complex-protein composite comprising apohemoglobin, apoheme oxygenase, apocatalase or apoferrin having cavity and a metal complex has a specific structure that the metal complex is received in the cavity of the apoprotein. The metal complex is prepared by complexation of a metal ion, which is selected from the group consisting of rhodium, ruthenium, and palladium, with a ligand. The metal complex-protein composite functions as a hydrogenation catalyst of an olefin in water. The metal complex-protein composite is thus effectively applied to hydrogenation of water-soluble subtrates and has enviromental advantages over organic solvents.

A white LED lighting device and a light source for white LED lighting that enable an energy-saving, maintenance-free operation while ensuring ample illuminance.Structure of a light source for white LED lighting, constituted by: inserting and holding a plurality of white LED elements in holding holes in a reflective plate, said plate being constituted by providing a required number of said holding holes, in a matrix-like array of prescribed pitch, in a plate of shape corresponding to the illuminating surface of a lamp body; fixing said plurality of white LED elements at locations 2 to 4 mm behind their respective electrode portions; attaching the positive and negative terminals of the white LED elements to a base plate for the LED elements, said base plate being disposed parallel to and directly behind the reflective plate; and forming, at the positive and negative terminals, a series-parallel electrical network suitable for the applied voltage.
Abstract:
An electric double layer capacitor, including at least one basic cell, an electrode plate, and an outer package which covers the basic cell and the electrode plate in a decompression state. The basic cell may be laminated in its thickness direction to form a layered cell and includes a separator, a pair of polarized electrodes disposed so as to sandwich the separator, a pair of collectors disposed so as to sandwich the polarized electrodes, and a gasket disposed between the pair of collectors so as to surround the pair of polarized electrodes. The electrode plate body is attached to each of the collectors located at the outermost side in a laminated direction of the layered cell. A sealing material having a higher gas barrier property than the collectors is disposed so as to seal an interface between the collectors and the electrode plate in the outer package.
Abstract:
There is provided a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional shaped object, comprising the steps of: (i) forming a solidified layer by irradiating a predetermined portion of a powder layer with a light beam, thereby allowing sintering of the powder of the predetermined portion or melting and subsequent solidification thereof; and (ii) forming another solidified layer by newly forming a powder layer on the resulting solidified layer, and then irradiating another predetermined portion of the new powder layer with the light beam, the steps (i) and (ii) being repeatedly performed, wherein the three-dimensional shaped object is manufactured such that it has three different solidified portions of high-density, intermediate-density and low-density solidified portions in at least a part of the object, and wherein the intermediate-density solidified portion is formed to be located in a part of a surface of the three-dimensional shaped object.
Abstract:
A power tool includes a housing, an electric motor, a speed change mechanism, and a protrusion member. The housing defines therein a mechanism chamber. A lubricant is inserted in an interior of the mechanical chamber. The electric motor is accommodated in the housing. The speed change mechanism is disposed in the mechanism chamber and connected to the motor for shift-transmitting rotation of the motor. The protrusion member protrudes to the mechanism chamber from the housing in a protrusion direction. The protrusion member provides a communication passage that has one opening open at a leading end side of the protrusion member in the protrusion direction and another opening open to an exterior of the mechanical chamber. At least a part of the protrusion member provides the communication passage and is made from a resilient material.
