Abstract: In a data communication system including a facsimile apparatus having a function of creating data based on a facsimile signal, and a data processing apparatus that is connected to the facsimile apparatus via a network and does not have the function, the following processing is executed so that the data processing apparatus processes a facsimile signal. A telephone apparatus is connected to the data processing apparatus, and the data processing apparatus transforms the facsimile signal received by the telephone apparatus into a digital signal.
