Abstract:
An image processing system includes an image processing apparatus and a portable terminal apparatus. The image processing apparatus includes: a first USB connector; and a command transmitter that transmits a file manipulation command. The portable terminal apparatus includes: a second USB connector; a detector that detects that the portable terminal apparatus is connected to the first USB connector via the second USB connector; a memory being capable of storing a plurality of first folders; a register that registers address information of a Web service, the Web service being combined with at least one first folder stored on the memory; a mounting portion that accesses the Web service and mounts at least one second folder of the Web service onto the at least one first folder; and a controller that obtains a file from the Web service to transfer to the image processing apparatus upon the file manipulation command being received.
Abstract:
An image projection device which can freely set access information to other devices which are connected to a communication network and exhibits excellent user-friendliness and secrecy is provided. An image projection device acquires image data via the communication network and projects an image based on the image data. The image projection device includes: a receiving unit which receives an E-mail transmitted from another device which is connected to the communication network and containing information on the image data; a content analyzing unit which analyzes a content of the E-mail received by the receiving unit; and an image data acquiring unit which acquires the image data via the communication network based on an analysis result obtained by the content analyzing unit.
Abstract:
A digital multifunction device is provided with a RAM having a virtual drive area. A persona computer is connected to the digital multifunction device and is capable of communicating therewith via USB interface. The digital multifunction device enables a personal computer to recognize this virtual drive area as an external storage device, and the personal computer can access to the virtual drive area. Upon receipt of facsimile data, the digital multifunction device converts one page worth data to image data of PDF or TIFF format each time the one page worth data is received. After full page worth data have been received and the converted PDT or TIFF image data are put together in a single data file, the data file is written to the virtual drive area.
Abstract:
A cooperative processing system includes an operation terminal and a cooperative processing device connected to each other, and is connectable to a plurality of electronic devices. The cooperative processing system causes one of electronic devices to function as an input device to cause electronic data to be input therefrom and one of the electronic devices to function as an output device to output the electronic data. The cooperative processing system includes an obtaining unit to obtain input device information to specify the input device and output device information to specify the output device, an input control unit to cause the input device to input electronic data through a first interface according to the input device information, and an output control unit to cause the output device to output the electronic data through a second interface according to the output device information in an format appropriate for the output device.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus having a file server function and capable of using a path notification function according to the way in which the image processing apparatus is utilized by a user. The image forming apparatus does not perform a URI notification, if an image data file is stored into a storage unit of the apparatus via the file server function, or if the file is stored via the file server function from an unregistered data storage source, or if the file was not created by an MFP job, or if the file is stored via the file server function and has a registered file type.

Abstract:
A network scanner, communication protocols, and client and server programs and are provided which provide an improved way to transmit legally binding documents, obviating the need for outmoded, legacy fax transmissions. Using the network scanner, a document may be scanned and transferred directly into any shared folder inbox residing on any computer attached to the Internet. Enhanced server systems and network communications and messaging protocols are provided that are more practical to use than email for sending documents such as executed legal documents or other documents requiring robust integrity and authenticatability. Similarly, the inventive network scanner, server systems and communication protocols provide improved ways to perform large file transfers and to manage bandwidth to minimize problems associated with uploading/downloading large files as attachments to/from email servers and for enabling user control over VoIP quality during file transmission sessions.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus that positively notifies a notification destination of information to be notified even if a communication protocol is changed before notifying storage of stored data. A notification setting processing section of a document storage notification application sets a protocol for accessing the stored document data from a computer via a network. When document data is stored in a HDD, a mail transmission processing section notifies the computer of storage location information on the document data for accessing the data according to the set protocol. If the set protocol is changed before the storage location information is notified to the computer, a control section causes the mail transmission processing section to notify the computer of storage location information for causing the document data to be accessed using the changed protocol.

Abstract:
A method of controlling a host apparatus which is connectable with at least one image forming apparatus via a universal serial bus (USB) includes connecting the image forming apparatus having a storage unit in which at least one application program is stored with the host apparatus. The host apparatus recognizes the image forming apparatus as a disk drive corresponding to a mass storage class and displays the mass storage disk drive on a display of the host apparatus. A user of the host apparatus may use an explorer program to select an application stored in the mass storage disk drive. Accordingly, an application program that provides a UI stored in the image forming apparatus is loaded and executed in the host apparatus to enable convenient control and status identification of the image forming apparatus using the displayed UI without an additional installation process.
