Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for assembly of tubular joints which overcome the drawbacks and limitations of conventional joints. In certain embodiments, the tubular joints may comprise threaded joints used in oil exploration. Joints may be assembled using a combination of a) position control, b) specific production tolerances for thread parameters, and c) coatings applied on threaded areas of the joint. In further embodiments, the tubular joints may have no torque shoulder and/or metal to metal seals. In additional embodiments, the joints may be further assembled and disassembled several times without application of dope or grease and exhibit enhanced sealability. Beneficially, embodiments of the present disclosure may provide high tolerance, precisely assembled joints that provide improved performance (e.g., mechanical performance, sealability, corrosion resistance, lubrication) and reliability over non-premium connections without the expense associated with premium connections.
Abstract:
There is provided a lubricant for hot plastic working, which contains 20 to 40 mass % of iron oxide and 10 to 30 mass % of sodium silicate, wherein impurities are 3 mass % or less, and the lubricant contains 40 to 60 mass % of water. By virtue of combined action of these components, the lubricant exhibits excellent lubricity and suppliability and does not adversely affect the corrosion resistance of product. The lubricant is suitably used for lubricating a guide shoe in piercing-rolling, for example, a high-Cr steel and achieves a great effect of preventing a seizure flaw from occurring on the outer surface of product by being applied directly to the outer surface of a workpiece just before piercing rolling, preferably, within one second before starting piercing rolling.
Abstract:
Provided are a formulation which creates protection layers on the metal friction and wear surface and a method for preparing the same. The formulation provided here comprises 45-99 parts laminar hydroxyl silicate powders, 1-50 parts formulation which creates protection layers on the metal surface and method for preparing the same and 0.05-6 parts carbonization-graphitization catalyst, calculated by weight. Also provided is method for preparing the same. The formulation provided here could create a friction-reducing and wear-resistant nanocrystal protection layer in situ on the metal friction and wear surface, at the same time, it has high hardness of cermet and elastic modulus of formulation which creates protection layers on the metal surface and method for preparing the same high grade alloy steel.
Abstract:
A waterborne lubricant, useful in the plastic working of metals, which imparts a lubricating behavior to the surface of metals in the absence of a conversion coating contains (A) water-soluble inorganic salt and (B) wax, wherein these components are dissolved or dispersed in water and the (B)/(A) solids weight ratio is 0.3 to 1.5. The (C) metal salt of a fatty acid can also be present at a (C)/(A) solids weight ratio of 0.01 to 0.4. The water-soluble inorganic salt (A) can be selected from the sulfates, silicates, borates, molybdates, and tungstates. The wax (B) can be a synthetic wax having a melting point of 70 to 150° C. A lubricating coating is formed by application to give a post-drying add-on of 0.5 to 40 g/m2. A method for using said lubricant is also provided.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a stable aqueous particle dispersion, wherein the particles in an aqueous medium are stabilised by a polymer stabiliser embodied in the form of a polycarboxylate.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a friction control composition comprising a binder a rheological control agent, and optionally a lubricant. The liquid friction control composition may also comprise other components a wetting agent, a consistency modifier, and a preservative. The liquid friction control compositions may be used to modify the interfacial friction characteristics in sliding and rolling-sliding contact such as steel wheel-rail systems including mass transit and freight systems. A method of reducing lateral force, reducing energy consumption, or controlling friction between a metal surface and a second metal surface by applying the composition to metal surface, for example a top of rail or wheel, is also provided. The composition may be sprayed onto the rail surface.
Abstract:
The production of solid lubricant agglomerates by combining solid lubricant powder, an inorganic binder, other fillers if optionally desired, and a liquid to form a mixture, and driving off the liquid to form dry agglomerates which are subsequently classified by size or milled and classified by size to yield agglomerates of a desired size range. These agglomerates are then treated to stabilize the binder, thereby strengthening the binder and rendering it nondispersible in the liquid. The treated agglomerates are then blended or clad with a metal, metal alloy or a metallic composition, to produce a composition suitable for thermal spray applications.
Abstract:
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a lubricant composition comprising a water-miscible silicone material having a silicone emulsion wherein the silicone emulsion contains less than 500 ppm of a triethanolamine salts of alkyl benzene sulfonic acid compounds.
Abstract:
