A washable floor mat has a tufted pile textile surface (1) and an elastomer backing layer (2). The textile surface (1) includes tufts of a blended yarn that includes at least 40% cotton fibers and at least 25% polyester fibres. The cotton and polyester fibres together comprise at least 90% of the total fibre content of the blended yarn.

Disclosed is a method for preparing a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) carpet, in which the poly(trimethylene terephthalate) carpet is prepared from poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarns through the post-processes comprising cabling, heat setting, tufting, dyeing, becking, and shearing. The poly(trimethylene terephthalate) yarns have advantages of improved quality, functionality, and workability by optimizing operating conditions of the steps.

The invention provides a process for making a mat particularly a washable dust control mat, having a fabric layer and a rubber backing layer with a border extending beyond the fabric layer using a press which heat-cures the rubber and adheres it to the fabric and employs an inflatable bag to apply pressure by pressing the layers against a heated platen, wherein a frame defining the extent of the border is located between the bag and the platen, and wherein the bag applies pressure to the assembled layers including the border portion of the backing layer. The frame can act as a dam for preventing outward movement of the rubber and provide an integral thickened border; in some cases it also provides a guillotine for trimming the rubber during pressing.

The present invention relates to a roofing underlayment system comprising two layers of a coated structural article which comprises a substrate having an ionic charge coated with a coating having essentially the same ionic charge or one layer of such coated structural article in combination with one layer of felt material. The coating of the coated structural article consists essentially of a filler material and a binder material wherein the binder material bonds the filler material together and to the substrate and wherein the coating does not bleed through the substrate. The roofing underlayment system of the present invention can impart a Class B or better (Class A) fire rating to a roof assembly.

A pleated nonwoven product and method of constructing such a product which is particularly suitable for various automotive applications. The product is formed from a fibrous mat with the fibers within each pleat extending substantially vertically when the mat is in a horizontal orientation. Various products may be formed from the pleated nonwoven mat including automotive carpets and underpads, trim parts, trunk liners, upholstery, engine compartment liners, and sound insulators. Additional embodiments of the invention utilize a split pleated product presenting a unique automotive textile, carpet or other upholstery product and a unitary carpet and underpad product utilizing the pleated product of the invention.

Abstract:
Carpet, or carpet tile having a tough resilient backing may be prepared by incorporating a fleece (6) into a foam backing on a carpet. The foam (5) is applied to the back of a carpet and the fleece (6) is overlaid and the foam and fleece are crushed together and gelled preferably using a drum laminator (10) then dried in a conventional oven (13). The resulting carpet may be cut into carpet tiles. The carpet or tile has lay flat properties and good abrasion resistance.

A floor mat comprising: a hydrophilic flocking adhesive, flock fibers, a thin primary backing selected from nonwoven, woven and polymeric film substrates, a laminating adhesive and a foam secondary backing. The flock fibers are bonded to the primary backing with the hydrophilic flocking adhesive. The primary backing is laminated to the foam secondary backing with the laminating adhesive. The hydrophilic flocking adhesive improves the wet soil absorbency of the mat.
