Abstract:
A method for binding a greige carpet and a secondary backing material using a hot melt adhesive is disclosed. A heated application roll may be provided and the secondary backing material may be contacted with the hot melt adhesive and greige carpet and pressed against the heated application roll.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a color-coated fouling-resistant conductive cloth and a manufacturing method thereof. The method includes the steps of providing a conductive cloth interwoven by natural fibers or artificial fibers and containing a metal layer, and forming at least one colored resin-coating layer on the metal layer of the conductive cloth by means of blade coating, wherein the surface of the resin-coating layer does not exceed the intersections of warp yarns and weft yarns of the conductive cloth. The conductive cloth of the present invention has the characteristics of colored appearance, artificial or environmental contamination resistance, and low surface resistance.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a conductive, flame-retardant polymeric fabric composed of a woven or non-woven nylon, polyester or acrylic fabric. A surface of the fabric is provided with a flame-retardant layer applied by coating the flame-retardant directly onto the fabric surface. Disposed on the flame-retardant layer is a conductive metal applied preferably by vapor deposition. The resulting article not only has a surface resistance of less than one ohm/sq, but also the article has an Underwriter Laboratories very thin material (VTM) vertical bum test rating of zero rendering the article suitable for use as an electromagnetic interference shielding fabric.
Abstract:
Polymeric carpet and a method of making and recycling such carpet, the carpet having fibers, backing and extruded adhesive all of completely recyclable materials, the recycling being accomplished in one melting step, without a separation step.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing carpet tiles having excellent dimensional stability which comprises the steps of:(a) allowing a reticulated fabric base having a small thermal coefficient of linear expansion to be contact with the whole surface of the back of a carpet base material,(b) applying a backing material prepared from a composition containing a thermoplastic material as the major component to the resulting composite material, and(c) optionally laminating a fabric backing onto the above backing material.
Abstract:
Carpets having stain resistant pile fibers and a backing that is substantially impervious to water are described. The imperviousness of the backing prevents water from passing through the carpet and into the underpad where its presence causes rotting and mildewing of the underpad and carpet components, and thus, permits the carpet to be washed with generous amounts of water without wetting the underpad. Also, aqueous substances which spill onto the carpet will not penetrate the carpet and wet the underpad.
Abstract:
A process for providing textile fabrics, especially polyamide carpeting, with an antistatic finish. The process comprises treating the fabrics with an aqueous film-forming preparation which contains an acid ester of phosphoric acid or phosphorous acid, said ester being derived from an aliphatic diol having an average molecular weight of 400 to 2600, wherein the diol is unetherified or etherified by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy.
Abstract:
The adhesion of carboxylated SBR adhesive to polypropylene carpet backings is improved by a coating on the polypropylene of chlorinated polypropylene having a chlorine content of 10-20%.
