A sealing device (12) for a camshaft adjuster (1) which is driveable using a belt and has a distributing valve (8) with a piston, wherein the sealing device (12) has a first securing portion (13) rigidly arrangeable on the camshaft adjuster (1), a second securing portion (14) rigidly arrangeable on the piston side, and a flexible membrane portion (15) arranged between the first securing portion (13) and the second securing portion (14), and a camshaft adjuster (1) having a having a stator (3) which, based on a combustion engine, is driveable using a belt, and a rotor (4) with limited twistability relative to the stator (3), wherein a twisting can be effected hydraulically, and a distributing valve (8) with a piston for the purpose of freeing up or blocking the pathway for a hydraulic medium or altering a through-flow direction, wherein the camshaft adjuster (1) has a sealing device (12) of the type whose first securing portion (13) is rigidly arranged on the camshaft adjuster (1) and whose second securing portion (14) is rigidly arranged on the piston side.

The machine combination of an internal combustion engine and the generator of a hybrid drive has two cylinder-piston units, which are arranged parallel to each other in a common housing and each piston of which has a drive connection to an individual crankshaft via connecting rods associated with the pistons. The crankshafts have a counter-rotational connection to each other by gears. This coupling of the two crankshafts by gears allows the internal combustion engine to be combined with a generator in a particularly compact design, in that the shaft of the generator bears a gear, which is arranged in the same plane as the gears of the crankshafts.

An object of the present invention is to provide a guide shoe that can prevent a shortage of lubricating oil and supply the lubricating oil onto a sliding surface of the shoe in a favorable manner. To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a guide shoe 120 that has a shoe surface 121 for slidably guiding a running chain CH. An oil guide part 124 with a pair of guide walls 124a is provided in the shoe surface 121. The pair of guide walls 124a are each formed such as to face a rear side in a chain running direction D and converge to each other toward a front side in the chain running direction D.

In one aspect, the invention is directed to a belt tensioner for tensioning a belt, comprising a pivot shaft that is fixedly mountable with respect to an engine block of an engine, a tensioner arm rotatably mounted to the pivot shaft for pivoting about a tensioner arm axis in a first direction and in an opposing second direction, a pulley rotatably mounted to the tensioner arm for rotation about a pulley axis, and a tensioner spring positioned to bias the tensioner arm in the first direction, wherein the tensioner spring has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is engaged with the tensioner arm, and a micro adjustment mechanism that is operatively connected to control the position of the second end of the tensioner spring so as to control the tension in the tensioner spring.

A system for an engine drive that engages a timing band with a camshaft and a crankshaft is provided. The system further includes a coupling device that couples the camshaft to another camshaft that is not engaged with the timing band. The coupling device and the camshafts are in such a configuration that the camshafts rotate in opposing directions.

A drive train for the sleeve of a sleeve valve engine has a pair of drives imparting compound motion to the sleeve which gives improved port opening and closing. One drive uses a engine driven first gear to give eccentric motion to the sleeve by a cam and follower. The other drive uses an engine driven second gear to give a small simultaneous rotation to the sleeve by an eccentric pin during a split sleeve. One drive allows axial response without preventing rotational response from the other drive. The sleeve path allows tall narrow ports which allow the piston rings to be nearer the piston crown and this reduces emissions.

The engine includes intake and exhaust rocker arms having a swing center line inclined relative to a rotation center line of a cam, and an intake valve and an exhaust valve inclined relative to a cylinder. A cam surface is inclined relative to the rotation center line of the cam. Slippers of the intake and exhaust rocker arms are in sliding contact with the cam surface.

An internal combustion engine for a vehicle, such as a motorcycle, includes a crankcase, two banks of cylinders projecting from the crankcase in a 56-57 degree V-configuration, a plurality of pushrods, and a plurality of camshafts supported by the crankcase. The two banks of cylinders include a first cylinder bank that projects from the crankcase to a first cylinder head, and a second cylinder bank that projects from the crankcase to a second cylinder head. The plurality of intake and exhaust valve pushrods extend between the crankcase and the first and second cylinder heads, driven by one intake camshaft and two exhaust camshafts.
