Abstract: A rocker arm mechanism of an engine, a system and a method for two-stroke engine brake are provided. The rocker arm mechanism includes a first rocker arm, a second rocker arm and a connection mechanism. One end of the first rocker arm and one end of the second rocker arm is rotatably connected to a shaft, the other end of the first rocker arm is close to a valve of the engine, while the other end of the second rocker arm is close to a cam. The connection mechanism includes a connecting piston and a linkage mechanism. The connecting piston is disposed in the first rocker arm or the second rocker arm, the linkage mechanism is rotatably connected to one end of the connecting piston. The rocker arm mechanism may be used for engine cylinder deactivation and engine brake.

The main body is configured to engage the first exhaust valve, and the first lever is configured to engage the second exhaust valve. The valve bridge further includes a second lever rotatably coupled to the main body. The second lever is configured to engage the first exhaust valve.

Abstract: A combined exhaust and engine brake rocker arm assembly (20) configured to selectively open first and second exhaust valves (26, 28) includes a rocker arm body (40), an exhaust rocker arm assembly (16) formed in the rocker arm body (40), and a lost motion spigot assembly (56) including an adjustment nut (70) and guide (62) configured to receive a shaft assembly (60) for adjusting a lash of the lost motion spigot assembly (56). The shaft assembly is disposed within a bore (92) of the adjustment nut below an upper surface thereof, and an engine brake rocker arm assembly (18) is formed in the rocker arm body (40) and configured to operate in a collapse mode and a rigid mode. The lost motion spigot assembly (56) is configured to selectively engage a valve bridge (52) to open the first and second exhaust valves (26, 28), and the engine brake rocker arm assembly (18) is configured to selectively engage the valve bridge (52) to open only the first exhaust valve (26).

Abstract: Systems, methods, and control systems for a switching rocker arm assembly are disclosed. A switching rocker arm (10) engages a valve (29), the switching rocker arm (10) is movable by contact with a cam (60) having a lift portion (59) and a base circle (58). The switching rocker arm (10) comprises an inner arm (20), an outer arm (12) pivotably secured to the inner arm (20) and having a latch bore, and a latch pin (28) selectively movable between a first position where the latch pin (28) does not contact the inner arm (20), and a second position wherein the latch pin (28) contacts the inner arm (20). A solenoid assembly (500) is energized while the rocker arm is in contact with the lift portion (59) of the cam. The solenoid assembly is direct-acting and overhead and is calibratable with respect to the rocker arm.

Abstract: A rotary pump is provided for fluid transfer. The pump includes a planar housing, an elongated rotor, a pair of double-concave blades, fore and aft cover plates, and a gear box. The housing has a circular center cavity, and a pair of circular lateral cavities overlapping the center cavity and disposed along a longitudinal axis. The rotor is disposed on a rotor shaft along a rotation axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis within the center cavity. The blades flank the rotor and are disposed within their corresponding lateral cavity and turn on corresponding blade shafts parallel to the rotor shaft. The fore and aft cover plates flank the housing along the rotation axis to cover the center and lateral cavities. The blades turn opposite from the rotor.

Abstract: Methods are provided for managing forcing function frequency profiles during operation of a multi-cylinder engine. A first stroke mode for a first cylinder is selected and comprises at least a sequential deactive operation of the opening and the closing of a first intake valve and a first exhaust valve during at least two reciprocations of a first reciprocating piston. The first stroke mode is operated on the first cylinder, a second stroke mode is operated on a second cylinder, and a third stroke mode is operated on the remaining cylinders to meet or exceed a required torque output and to form a first aggregate of forcing function frequency profiles that comprises primary forcing function frequency profiles that are less than or approximate in amplitude and less than or approximate in frequency value to one of the respective baseline of primary forcing function frequency profiles.

Abstract: A variable valve train module selectively controls the opening and closing of a valve of an engine. The variable valve train module includes a drive element configured to be driven by a cam which rotates on a camshaft, a pump which is driven by the drive element, and a hydraulic control unit. The hydraulic control unit is configured to control the engine valve. The hydraulic control unit has a high pressure chamber containing hydraulic fluid which is selectively pressurized by the pump. The hydraulic control unit also has a control valve which is configured to depressurize the high pressure chamber, and a damper which is configured to increase an effective volume of the high pressure chamber when a pressure in the high pressure chamber exceeds a threshold value.
