    Abstract: An exhaust rocker assembly for operating an exhaust valve of an engine during a compression-release engine braking operation. The exhaust rocker assembly comprises an exhaust rocker arm and a self-contained compression brake control module (CBCM) mounted to the exhaust rocker arm and operatively coupled to the exhaust valve for controlling a lift and a phase angle thereof. The CBCM includes a casing, an actuation piston disposed outside the casing so as to define an actuation piston cavity, a reset check valve provided between the casing and the actuation piston, and a compression brake actuator disposed in the casing. The actuation piston reciprocates relative to the casing. The compression brake actuator includes a control piston. The control piston engages the check valve when deactivated so as to unlock the actuation piston cavity and disengages from the check valve when activated so as to lock the actuation piston cavity.

    Abstract: A variable valve timing assembly for a combustion engine comprises: a phaser configured to receive therein a camshaft; wherein the phaser includes a phaser exterior body that is cylindrical-shaped, a phaser interior body that is cylindrical-shaped and within the phaser exterior body, a phaser exterior spline on an exterior of the phaser exterior body, and a phaser interior spline on an exterior of the phaser interior body; a phaser inner housing disposed within the phaser and configured to receive therein the camshaft; wherein the phaser inner housing includes an inner housing interior spline that mates with the phaser interior spline; an advancing chamber configured to receive fluid from and discharge fluid to the camshaft; a retarding chamber configured to receive fluid from and discharge fluid to the camshaft; and a main housing that encloses therein the phaser and the phaser inner housing, and is configured to engage a timing chain/belt.

    Abstract: A rocker arm assembly can comprise a main rocker, an auxiliary rocker, and a lost motion spring mounted to press on the main rocker and the auxiliary rocker. The main rocker can comprise a main body surrounding a main rocker bore, a valve end, a main cam end, and a main latch bore between the valve end and the main cam end. The auxiliary rocker can comprise an auxiliary body that is forked. A first auxiliary rocker bore and a second auxiliary rocker bore can flank the main rocker bore. A first auxiliary cam end and a second auxiliary cam end can flank the main cam end. A first auxiliary latch bore and a second auxiliary latch bore can flank the main latch bore. The lost motion spring can span over the main latch bore.

    Abstract: A type II valve train assembly that selectively opens first and second intake valves and first and second exhaust valves is provided. The valve train assembly includes an intake rocker arm assembly and an exhaust rocker arm assembly. The valve train assembly is configurable for operation in any combination of activated and deactivated states of engine braking and cylinder deactivation. The exhaust rocker arm assembly includes a first exhaust rocker arm, a second exhaust rocker arm and an engine brake exhaust rocker arm. A first exhaust HLA is associated with the first exhaust rocker arm. A second exhaust HLA is associated with the second exhaust valve. An exhaust actuation assembly selectively actuates to alter travel of the first and second exhaust HLA's to change a state of cylinder deactivation between activated and deactivated.
