Abstract: A method according to the invention for controlling an internal combustion engine having a camshaft whose phase with respect to a crankshaft can be adjusted by means of an electric adjustment device, and a control device comprises the steps S1 to S3, wherein in step S1 a stop request is output from the control device to the electric adjustment device. Subsequently, in step S2 a manipulated variable in the form of a pulse duty factor is output from the electric adjustment device, wherein the pulse duty factor counteracts a camshaft torque. In step S3, the direction of rotation of the camshaft is monitored, wherein in step S4, when a reversal of the direction of rotation of the camshaft is detected, an intensity level of this reversal of the direction of rotation is calculated by determining a rotational speed gradient. Furthermore, in a step S5 the pulse duty factor is corrected as a function of the rotational speed gradient in such a way that the influence of the reversal of the direction of rotation on the position of the camshaft is compensated.

Abstract: A camshaft phaser includes a stator having an inner wall with lobes extending radially inward and a stator flange extending radially outward, the stator flange having a plurality of apertures; a rotor coaxially disposed within the stator, the rotor having vanes interspersed with the lobes defining alternating advance chambers and retard chambers; a plurality of compression limiters extending through the apertures; a front cover which closes one end of the advance and retard chambers; a back cover which closes the other end of the advance and retard chambers; and a plurality of fasteners which extend through the apertures such that the fasteners apply a clamping load which clamps the stator between the front cover and the back cover such that the clamping load is transmitted through the compression limiters.

Abstract: A method for producing a stator for a camshaft adjuster, the produced stator having an annular main body with outer spur toothing and with webs extending radially inwards from a radially inner surface of the main body spaced part from one another in the circumferential direction of the main body, includes the steps of providing a mold for forming the main body integrally with the spur toothing and the webs extending radially inwards, filling the mold with a metallic powder, pressing the powder to form a green compact and sintering the green compact to obtain a stator blank. The spur toothing, the surface of the main body facing radially inwards and formed between the webs as well as side faces of the webs adjoining the surface are compacted to the desired final dimensions in several steps without prior mechanical processing.

Abstract: An adjustable camshaft can be used in a valve drive of an internal combustion engine. The adjustable camshaft may include an inner shaft rotatably supported by and concentric with an outer shaft. A cam element may be rotatably supported on the outer shaft such that the outer shaft extends through a cam bore of the cam element. The cam element may be rotatably-fixed to the inner shaft, in some cases, by way of a bolt. Further, a bearing sleeve that is rotatably-fixed to the cam element may be inserted within the cam bore such that a slide bearing gap is formed between the bearing sleeve and the outer shaft. Furthermore, in some examples the cam element may be a collared cam that has a cam base body and a cam collar adjacent to one another.
