Abstract: The present application provides an apparatus comprising a radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor comprising: an antenna configured to receive an interrogation signal from a reader and to transmit a response signal to the reader; at least one integrated circuit (IC) connected to the antenna; and at least one sensing element. The apparatus further comprises a channel for directing transmission of signals between the antenna and the reader, wherein the RFID sensor is attached or directly adjacent to a first end of the channel. The sensing element is responsive to a change induced by its environment to switch from a conductive state to a non-conductive state, or from a non-conductive state to a conductive state. The present application further provides a method for monitoring the integrity or the change in environment of a buried structure using the RFID sensor-containing apparatus.

Abstract: A routing system that can receive, decode, and route messages from electronic tracking tags made by different manufacturers and issued by different tag issuers. Tracking tags may be placed on items that are shipped or stored, and wireless messages from the tags may be used to track the items and their status. The system enables a site to use a single gateway that obtain messages from heterogeneous tracking tags; the gateway forwards messages to the routing system for processing. The system may access a tag manufacturers database that contains a descriptor of the messages from each manufacturer's tags, and a tag registrations database that lists tags associated with each tag issuer. The system supports tag messages with encrypted contents and with tag identifiers that are rotated to prevent malicious tracking, and it may check message integrity to detect modification of the message after it is sent from the tag.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for improving medical procedures and medical procedure management, and, more particularly, for tracking medical instruments throughout a procedure and assisting medical personnel throughout the procedure or at least at the conclusion of the procedure. In one form, an apparatus for tracking medical instruments throughout a procedure is disclosed having a single camera for tracking movement and/or detecting position of a plurality of medical instruments during a medical procedure as at least one of the plurality of medical instruments is moved between multiple zones at least including a first prep zone and a second procedure zone. The apparatus having a controller connected to and collecting images from the camera, and a display in electrical communication with the controller and/or the camera for displaying medical instrument data pertaining to the movement and/or position of the plurality of medical instruments.

Abstract: An UV sterilization device includes a housing defining a cavity, a tray carried within the cavity and configured to receive a device, the device including an RFID tag, and an NFC device configured to communicate with the device when external to the cavity and unlock a door when the device is authorized, and a UV CBA carried within the cavity adjacent the tray and having LED UV sources configured to irradiate the device with UV radiation. The controller may be configured to determine a position and a number of the device based upon the RF signal from the RFID tag, and selectively power the UV CBA for disinfecting the device based upon the identification of the device.

Abstract: Systems for tamper proofing vapor device e-liquid tanks are provided. The systems comprise tanks with one or more irremovable Radio Frequency Identification tags (RFID) tags. The tanks are used in conjunction with vaping devices that are equipped with a wireless RFID scanner and a processor. The tank may include a memory device with authentication data and a partial wired circuit segment connected thereto. The vape device may also include a wired a circuit segment connected to the processor and a battery. The two wired circuit segments are connected together physically and electrically to form a complete circuit when the tank makes physical contact with the vape device. The connection allows the processor to periodically read the memory device to ensure the tank is not replaced with an adulterated tank after the RFID tag(s) enable the heating element.

Abstract: The present invention provides a physical card capable of improving authenticity identification and a method of using thereof. The physical card is provided with two electronic tags of different wavebands. When a physical card is to be traded, the purchaser can perform an appearance inspection of the physical card, or use a first reader in the purchaser's mobile phone to directly read a high-frequency electronic tag of the physical card and obtain a card first information, so that purchaser can quickly and automatically determine the authenticity of the physical card. In addition, an UHF electronic tag in the physical card can be read by a second reader of a verification agency, and then a second information of the physical card can be obtained. Since the physical card is used without leaving the holder of the physical card during the whole process, the contactless transaction mode maintains a social safety distance, which can improve the security of the physical card when in use.
