Abstract: A remote controller is provided, which includes a transmitter, a microphone configured to receive from a display device an audio signal including information on a code set capable of controlling an external device connected to the display device through a predetermined carrier frequency, a signal processor configured to convert the received audio signal, and a microcomputer configured to acquire the code set capable of controlling the external device from a converted signal if the received audio signal is converted into a form that can be processed through the signal processor, and to control the transmitter to transmit a control signal for controlling the external device on the basis of the code set.

Abstract: System, method and computer program product for determining a polling schedule for a remote control, are described. A multimedia device collects usage data that identifies when the multimedia device is in use. The probability that the multimedia device is in use for a particular time is determined based on the usage data. A polling schedule is generated based on the usage probability such that the periods in the polling schedule vary according to the usage probability to minimize energy consumption. The polling schedule is then transmitted to the remote control where the remote control polls the multimedia device according to the polling schedule.

Abstract: There is provided a wireless battery system reconcilable with unsuccessful communication due to interference from an external wireless instrument or radio wave reflection or shielding under a surrounding physical environment. A wireless battery system allocates a cell controller to a cell, detects a cell state, and wirelessly communicates a cell state detected by a cell controller to a battery controller. During the wireless communication, the battery controller transmits a beacon to the cell controller and specifies a duration for radio wave environment measurement and a frequency to be measured as a condition. The cell controller performs radio wave environment measurement under the specified condition and then returns a measurement result along with the cell state to the battery controller.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a device control method, which comprises capturing, by a portable device, a first image of a specific area containing a number of electronic devices connected to a communication network; transmitting a connection signal to a selected electronic device on a device list containing all the electronic devices connected to a communication network; determining whether the selected electronic device is in the first image captured based on whether a response has been received from the selected electronic device; identifying the selected electronic device on the device list and the relative position of the selected electronic device on the first image captured upon determined that the selected electronic device is in the first image; and continuing the device identification process until all the connected electronic devices on the device list has been verified, to identify the relative positions of all electronic devices contained in the first image.

Abstract: A portable electronic device with a touch-sensitive display (such as a cellular telephone) provides a wireless remote control for an entertainment device (such as a consumer-electronic device). Based on device-state information that specifies a current state of the entertainment device (which is determined by an audio/video (A/V) hub that communicates with the entertainment device) and one or more related states of the entertainment device, the A/V hub may generate user-interface information that specifies a user interface that includes one or more virtual command icons. Note that the one or more related states are related to the current state in a state diagram by corresponding operations that transition the entertainment device from the current state to the one or more related states. Then, the A/V hub provides the user interface to the portable electronic device. In this way, the A/V hub device dynamically adapts the user interface.
