Abstract: Systems, methods and media for remote control of electronic devices using a proximity sensor are provided. In some implementations, the system comprises: a proximity sensor comprising an infrared emitter and an infrared detector, wherein the proximity sensor is configured to emit infrared light having specific properties using the infrared emitter and sense reflected light having the specific properties using the infrared detector to determine proximity of the sensor to an object; and a hardware processor that is programmed to: receive a user instruction to cause a command to be issued to control an electronic device; determine a code to be transmitted that corresponds to the command from a plurality of codes associated with the electronic device; and provide at least one signal to the proximity sensor to cause the proximity sensor to emit an infrared signal corresponding to the code instead of emitting infrared light having the specific properties.

Abstract: A data acquisition device that can be coupled with any motor, even those already in service, to automatically monitor the operation of the motor and provide alerts when the motor is in need of repair or replacement. The data acquisition device senses conditions of the motor and transmits sensor data to a computer system or other remote monitoring device so that the remote monitoring device can determine if the motor needs to be repaired or replaced. The data acquisition device also acquires location data and sends it to the remote monitoring device so that a technician or other person can quickly locate the motor.

Abstract: A terminal having an infrared remote control function and a pairing method for infrared remote control, where in the terminal, a memory stores an infrared code library, a processor selects an infrared code from the infrared code library, an infrared transmitter sends an infrared signal to a to-be-remotely-controlled device according to the infrared code, a sensor senses a status change of the to-be-remotely-controlled device that occurs after the to-be-remotely-controlled device receives the infrared signal, and the processor determines, according to the status change of the to-be-remotely-controlled device sensed by the sensor, whether the terminal successfully establishes a pairing with the to-be-remotely-controlled device. Therefore, the terminal automatically establishes the pairing with the to-be-remotely-controlled device, and an automation degree of a pairing process during intelligent remote control is improved.

Abstract: A wearable device 100 for controlling a controllable device 104 based on an interaction with an object 102 is disclosed. The wearable device 100 further comprises a communication unit 110 for sending the control command to the controllable device 104. Thereby, the wearable device 100 is able to detect the use of the object 102 and adjust the control parameters of the controllable device 104 to create context- related use conditions. This may improve the control of the controllable device 104 and this may offer new interaction possibilities between the wearable device 100, the controllable device 104 and the object 102.
