Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system for improving a counting rate of a superconducting nanowire single photon detector. The method includes: coupling an electrical attenuator in series with an output end of the superconducting nanowire single photon detector; the electrical attenuator includes an input end and an output end, and the input end of the electrical attenuator is coupled with the output end of the superconducting nanowire single photon detector. The present disclosure couples the electrical attenuator in series with the output end of the superconducting nanowire single photon detector. Since the configuration of the electrical attenuator is a resistor network, it can act as a series resistor and can also reduce the response pulse amplitude of the superconducting nanowire single photon detector. The present disclosure can improve the counting rate of the superconducting nanowire single photon detector, while keeping the detection efficiency high.

Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein includes a method for operating lighting fixtures in horticultural applications. The method may include receiving a user input of a desired irradiance for a first color channel of one or more lighting fixtures that irradiates a plant bed, in which each of the one or more lighting fixtures comprises at least one light emitting diode (LED) array, determining, for each of the one or more lighting fixtures, a PWM setting of the first color channel such that each of the one or more lighting fixtures irradiate the plant bed at the desired irradiance based on calibration data stored in each of the one or more lighting fixtures, and applying, to each of the one or more lighting fixtures, the determined PWM setting of the first color channel.

Abstract: A light sensing apparatus includes: an arrangement of light sensing pixels, one or more pixels each associated with a noise floor and able to detect a triggering level of incoming light above the noise floor from a corresponding portion of a scene; readout circuitry to process and reset the triggering pixels; and an automatic gain control (AGC) to raise the noise floor of one or more pixels. Sometimes, the light sensing apparatus is part of a seeker that includes control circuitry to dynamically control the AGC to raise the noise floor of one or more pixels by an adjustable amount that varies in relation to the distance between the seeker and an intended target. Sometimes, the control circuitry dynamically controls the AGC in response to a concurrent triggering of two or more triggering pixels. or in response to a gain schedule corresponding to guiding the seeker to the intended target.

Abstract: A temperature-dependent current generator includes a first transistor connected between first and second nodes and providing a first voltage potential at the second node that decreases first order linearly when ambient temperature increases. The generator further includes an operational amplifier having first and second input terminals and an output terminal. The first input terminal is coupled to a second voltage potential that is first order independent of the ambient temperature. The second input terminal is coupled to a third node. The generator further includes a second transistor with gate, source, and drain terminals. The gate terminal is coupled to the output terminal of the operational amplifier. One of the source and drain terminals is coupled to the third node. The generator further includes a resistor coupled between the second and the third nodes. A resistance value of the resistor is first order independent of the ambient temperature.
