Abstract: An insulated power supply apparatus includes, a transformer; a switching element connected in series with a primary side winding of the transformer; an active clamp circuit connected between terminals of the primary side winding of the transformer; and a power supply control semiconductor device. The switching element includes a field effect transistor and a current-voltage conversion element is connected between a source terminal of the switching element and a grounding point. The power supply control semiconductor device includes the following, a first external terminal in which voltage according to a drain side of the switching element is input, a second external terminal in which voltage converted by the current-voltage conversion element is input, an on/off control circuit that performs turn-on and turn-off of the switching element, and a ZVS determining circuit that determines whether zero voltage switching control is performed.

Abstract: A method of controlling a switched-mode power supply (SMPS) based on a pulse-width modulation (PWM) control signal is provided to convert an input voltage to an output voltage. The method includes generating an error signal based on a difference between the output voltage and a target output voltage; filtering the error signal to generate a filtered error signal; generating a feed-forward signal based on at least one feed-forward parameter related to at least one of the output voltage, the input voltage, an output power of the SMPS, or an output current corresponding to the output voltage; adding the feed-forward signal and the filtered error signal to generate an integrator input signal; and applying a nonlinear integration function to the integrator input signal to generate the PWM control signal.

Abstract: A driver circuit is for driving a GaN power commutation switch of a switch mode power converter. A sensing component is connected to the GaN switch for sensing a parameter such as a peak current of the power commutation. An energy storage component provides a certain turn on voltage between the gate and source of the GaN switch. The charging and discharging of the energy storage component is regulated, and the sensing is disabled with timing which is synchronized with the charging and discharging function of the energy storage component. It is prevented that a voltage across the sensing component reduces the generated gate-source drive voltage of the GaN switch.

Abstract: A circuit includes a current sensor circuit having inputs and an output. The current sensor inputs are adapted to be coupled to inductor terminals a power converter. The current sensor circuit includes a tunable time constant circuit coupled between the current sensor inputs and the current sensor output. A time constant control circuit is coupled to a tunable time constant circuit, and is configured to tune the time constant circuit responsive to the current sensor output and another signal representative of inductor current. An adjustable gain circuit has a first input coupled to the current sensor output. A direct current resistance (DCR) control circuit has an output coupled to a second input of the adjustable gain circuit, and the DCR control circuit is configured to provide a gain adjust signal at the output thereof responsive to an average current of the inductor and a current command signal for the power converter.
