Abstract: A patient specific shoulder guide is provided that includes a hub and a plurality of peripheral members. Each of the peripheral members has a peripheral member height dimension between the patient specific contact surface and a side of the peripheral member opposite the patient specific contact surface. At least one of the peripheral members is a low profile peripheral member in which the peripheral height dimension is less than the peripheral height dimension of at least one other of the peripheral members or is less than the hub height.

Abstract: Filamentary fixation devices may be used in a variety of surgical procedures to secure soft tissue to bone. The present invention provides various devices, systems, kits and instrumentation for performing such surgical procedures including preparation of soft tissue and bone, preparation and manipulation of such filamentary fixation devices, and insertion and utilization of the fixation devices within a patient's anatomy. In one embodiment, a method for securing soft tissue to bone, the method includes accessing the soft tissue and the bone, passing a filament through the soft tissue, preparing a bore hole in the bone, loading the filament into a filamentary fixation device, implanting the filamentary fixation device, with the filament, into the bore hole, and tensioning the filament so that the filamentary fixation device and filament are secured within the bore hole.

Abstract: A glenosphere handling tool, which can be an inserter, is provided that includes an elongate body and a retention portion. The retention portion is disposed at a distal end of the elongate body. The retention portion includes a plurality of wall segments of the elongate body separated from each other by one or more slots. The slot(s) extends proximally from the distal end of the elongate body. The retention portion also includes an enlarged periphery at the distal end of the elongate body. The enlarged periphery comprising a proximally facing edge configured to engage an inner wall surface of a glenosphere. The retention portion is configured such that when the retention portion is in a free state the proximally facing edge faces and may contact a surface of a glenosphere to retain the glenosphere. The retention portion is configured to be deflected at the distal end of the elongate body such that the enlarged periphery has a reduced profile for separating the handling tool from a glenosphere.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method for securing tissue to bone, including drilling a bone hole into the bone; passing a filament through the tissue, the filament including a first end, a second end and a length therebetween, the second end having a loop; passing the first end of the filament through the loop of the filament; pulling on the first end of the filament such that the loop travels along the length of the filament and to the tissue; passing an anchor along the length of the filament, from the first end towards the loop and tissue; engaging the loop with a distal end of the anchor; positioning the distal end of the anchor, with the loop of the filament, into the bone hole; and securing the anchor in the bone.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for measuring a tibia varus or valgus angle via a surgically implanted measurement device. An exemplary method may include: receiving, via at least one processor, first data from the measurement device, wherein: a housing of the measurement device is coupled to a musculoskeletal system of a patient; and the first data includes a plurality of measurements from each of an accelerometer and a gyroscope included with an inertial measurement unit disposed within the housing; receiving, via the at least one processor, a first measurement of an anatomical feature of a leg of the patient; determining the tibia varus or valgus angle based on the first measurement; and causing a display to output the determined tibia varus or valgus angle. In some embodiments, instructions for implementing the method may be stored on a non-transitory computer readable medium.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present disclosure relates to an acetabular cup for implantation into a prepared acetabulum. The acetabular cup includes an inner surface, an outer surface, and an end face that separates the inner surface and the outer surface. The end face is opposite a polar region of the acetabular cup and circumscribes an open end of the acetabular cup. A plurality of protrusions project outwardly from the outer surface at predefined locations. The acetabular cup is operatively engaged to the prepared acetabulum in a planned orientation when the plurality of protrusions are received in corresponding predefined recesses in the prepared acetabulum.
