Abstract:
Two embodiments of a connector that can be mated without regard for its orientation are disclosed. One embodiment is mated and demated autonomously as part of a system for recovering, docking with, recharging and re-launching unmanned aerial vehicles. Another embodiment is employed on the decks of vessels to facilitate mating and demating of various equipment providing different functions to reconfigure the vessel. Because both embodiments are configured for connection irrespective of angular orientation over 360°, they are especially suited for harsh environments including autonomous operation, rough seas, darkness and the like.

System and method for code acquisition in a wireless communications system with a delay lock loop. A preferred embodiment comprises assigning a delay lock loop (DLL) to each path in a received signal with multipath, adjusting each DLL to maximize sample strength, grouping samples that are less than a first threshold apart into groups, adjusting DLL timing of samples in groups, regrouping groups that are less than a second threshold apart, applying a group decision to regrouped groups, and repeating the regrouping and applying until all groups are greater than the second threshold apart.

This invention discloses improvements that can be achieved in thermal or mechanical performance of aerogel composites via densification. Densified aerogels and aerogel composites can display higher compressive strength, modulus, flexural strength, and maintains or insubstantially increases the thermal conductivity relative to the pre-densified form. In the special case of fiber reinforced aerogel composites densification via mechanical compression can prove highly beneficial.

Provided is a method of changing an output current value of an off-chip driver by means of a counting circuit including pluralities of fuses for controlling the off-chip driver, that includes measuring the output current value of the off-chip driver after completing a wafer test; cutting the fuses of the counting circuit off when the measured output current value is smaller than a target value, increasing the initial value of a off-chip driving control signal; and fabricating a package when the measured output current value is equal to a target value.

A two-step high bottleneck type capillary for a wire bonding device having a height of 1.5˜5.0 mm and taper of 10˜15° from the capillary end is disclosed. The capillary consists of a straight portion; a first bottleneck portion extending upwards from the end of the capillary to a first step with a first taper of 8˜12°, said the first bottleneck portion having a first height of 0.1˜0.5 mm from the end of the capillary to the first step; and a second bottleneck portion extending upwards from the first step to a second step on the border of the straight portion with a second taper of 10˜15°, the second bottleneck portion having a second height of 1.1˜5.0 mm from the end of the capillary to the second step.

A barrier rib structure of a plasma display panel and a lower plate structure of the panel using the same, are discussed. According to an embodiment, the lower plate structure of the plasma display panel includes a substrate, barrier ribs formed on the substrate, and at least one blocking wall formed at least one beginning potion of the barrier ribs, from which a process of coating phosphor screens starts, to separate neighboring discharge spaces around the barrier ribs from each other.

A method for reducing time to download a web page includes storing a web page and its expiry time, and checking if the web page is expired according to its expiry time after a client delivers a request to a server to download the web page. If the web page is not expired, the server will directly transmit the web page. If the web page is expired, the server will execute programs again to update the web page, and then transmit the updated web page.

Disclosed is a rolling piston rotary compressor for use with primary refrigerants that is miniaturized for portable and mobile applications for which size and weight are often crucial. The miniature rotary compressor comprises a compressor mechanism, a brushless DC motor and a casing. The compressor mechanism comprises, a cylinder, a shaft having an eccentric part, one or more bearings to support the shaft, a roller, a vane, an oil sump, openings for communicating with lubricant oil and refrigerant, and inlet and discharge ports. The compressor mechanism and the motor are housed in a hermetically sealed or semi-hermetically sealed casing. The configuration and design of the present invention allow the realization of an ultralight miniature compressor. The miniature rotary compressor provides a higher power density and comparable efficiency as compared to state-of-the-art refrigerant-based rotary compressors. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing the miniature rotary compressor.

A method for driving backlight unit includes generating at least one pulse, after generating the at least one pulse, generating a driving signal having a constant state, supplying a predetermined capacitor voltage to a lamp assembly, wherein the predetermined capacitor voltage corresponds to the at least one pulse, and supplying a second voltage to the lamp assembly supplied with the predetermined capacitor voltage, wherein the second voltage corresponds to the driving signal and wherein the lamp assembly emits light in response to the supplied second voltage.
