Abstract: An energy storage system is disclosed. The energy storage system includes an insulated housing defining an interior chamber, a battery disposed within the interior chamber of the insulated housing, a cooling system configured to manage a temperature of the interior chamber of the insulated housing, and a temperature controller communicatively coupled to the cooling system and comprising at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device. The at least one processor is configured to determine a reference current level at the battery, compute, based on the reference current level, a target temperature for the interior chamber of the insulated housing, and instruct the cooling system to maintain the temperature in the interior chamber of the insulated housing at the target temperature.

Abstract: A carbon dioxide (CO2) capture system and method for removing CO2 from an inlet gas including a first fluid stream inlet providing for the flow of a first fluid stream, such as an inlet gas containing CO2, and a second fluid stream inlet providing for the flow of a second fluid stream, such as steam, an outlet providing for the flow of a CO2 depleted stream from the CO2 capture system, an outlet providing for the flow of a CO2 stream from the CO2 capture system and a concentrator in fluid communication with the first fluid stream. The system further including a first contactor and a second contactor. Each of the first contactor and the second contactor defining therein a first fluidically-isolated, sorbent-integrated, fluid domain for flow of the first fluid stream and CO2 adsorption and a second fluidically-isolated fluid domain for flow of the second fluid stream to assist in desorption.

Abstract: An electric machine includes a rotor assembly having a rotor core that extends in an axial direction and a stator assembly surrounding and coaxial with the rotor assembly. The stator assembly includes a stator core having slots extending in a radial direction into an inner surface of the stator core and extending axially from a first end surface to a second end surface of the stator core. The stator assembly includes stator coil windings disposed within the respective slots of the stator core and a first electrically insulating conformal coating disposed between the stator core and the stator coil windings. The conformal coating includes a polymer matrix impregnated with an effective amount of thermally conductive ceramic materials, above a percolation threshold, that form continuous thermal pathways across a thickness of the first coating.

The method further includes contacting the first coating deposited by the electrophoretic process with a polymeric material to form a second coating. The method furthermore includes curing or melting the polymeric material in the second coating to form the coating including the ceramic material dispersed in a polymer matrix.
