    Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for using one or more stereoscopic devices for gesture control and tracking in a head mounted display (HMD). Each of the one or more stereoscopic devices may include a pair of dynamic vision sensors (DVS) arranged to have complementary fields of view (FOV) to detect one or more of a leading and a trailing edge of an object moving in a range or area to be detected. The DVS sensors determine how the object is moving based on a change in light intensity of pixels without having to detect, transfer, or process all of the pixels. The system and method may thereby provide motion tracking and gesture control functions at very low latency and processing bandwidth.

    Abstract: Technologies for multi-factor authentication of a user include a computing device with one or more sensors. The computing device may authenticate the user by analyzing biometric and/or environmental sensor data to determine whether to allow the user access to a computing device. To do so, the computing device may determine reliability scores based on the environment during authentication for each biometric authentication factor used to authenticate the user. Additionally, the computing device may determine a login pattern based on sensor data collected during historical authentication attempts by the user over a period of time. The computing device may apply a machine-learning classification algorithm to determine classification rules, based on the login pattern, applied by the computing device to determine whether to allow the user access to the computing device. Other embodiments are described herein and claimed.

    Abstract: Techniques are described to monitor a level of graphics processing activity and control power usage based on the level. When no graphics processing activity is detected for a period of time, then a timing controller for a display device is instructed to capture a current image and repeatedly display the captured image. The graphics processing devices can be powered down. When graphics processing activity is detected, the graphics processing devices are powered up and the components used to capture an image and display the captured image are powered down.
