Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of cross-linked silicone gel, in particular, a polymerization product of a polyorganohydrosiloxane, with the proposed INCI name (Dimethicone/polymethylalkyl siloxane copolymer), in cosmetic applications to provide unexpected characteristics related to formulations incorporating these silicone gels.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to aroyl pyrrole heteroaryl methanone and methanol compounds pharmaceutically useful as agents for treating or modulating a central nervous system disorder and methods for treating or modulating a central nervous system disorder.
Abstract:
The invention provides personal care products comprising fatty ethoxylated dimeric urethane compounds that enhance the viscosity of constituent water based surfactant systems. In compositions and methods of the invention, ethoxylated nonionic, urethane dimers increase the viscosity of water based surfactant systems and serve as thickeners. These thickeners produce clear solutions in combination with surfactants and can be made sufficiently water soluble to produce clear solutions in water. The thickeners are compatible with anionic, cationic, amphoteric and nonionic surfactants and are functional and stable over a wide pH range.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for emulsion templating hollow silica-based particles. The particles are suitable for containing one or more active ingredients or for containing other smaller particles which may include one or more active ingredients. The emulsion templated particles can be formed from two or more silanes. The emulsion templated particles can also be formed from a silane and a compound that attaches a polymer on the shell of the hollow silica-based particles.

Abstract:
The invention describes the unexpected solubility characteristics of a number of cosmetic esters when used as solvents during the crosslinking reaction of silicone polymers to make elastomers, their use as diluting media and the uses of these ester elastomer mixtures in cosmetic and personal care products.

Abstract:
Hetero-substituted acetanilide derivatives are disclosed as analgesic agents. The compounds of the invention are useful in methods for treating a disease or condition in a mammal characterized by pain and/or fever.
Abstract:
The invention provides polymeric emulsifiers that: are useful in the manufacture of personal care products such as skin creams, sunscreens, hair conditioners and shampoos; have similar aesthetic properties as conventional surfactants when used in personal care product applications; and that are relatively free of the drawbacks associated with known anionic or nonionic polymeric emulsifiers. In certain embodiments, the invention provides o/w or w/o emulsions comprising cationic polyurethane emulsifiers (surfactants) or combinations of cationic polyurethane emulsifiers and conventional low HLB emulsifiers. Emulsions of the invention are useful as components of personal care products such as hair and skin care products and are functional and stable over a wide pH range.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to 3-(diarylmethylene)-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane derivatives useful as δ-opioid or μ-opioid receptor modulators. Depending on their agonist or antagonist effect, the compounds are useful analgesics, immunosuppressants, antiinflammatory agents, agents for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric conditions, medicaments for drug and alcohol abuse, agents for treating gastritis and diarrhea, cardiovascular agents and agents for the treatment of respiratory diseases.
