Abstract: An internal combustion engine is equipped with a supercharger which includes an intake port, an intake passage communicated with the intake port and a compressor interposed in the intake passage and compressing the intake air flowing through the intake passage. A unidirectional valve such as a reed valve is disposed inside the intake passage in series with the compressor in order to prevent backflow of the supercharged air inside the intake passage and thus to prevent a drop in the engine output when a throttle valve inside the intake passage is abruptly closed.

Abstract: A supercharger apparatus is provided which comprises a reciprocating type internal combustion engine having a block, an exhaust passage and an intake passage, and also having an exhaust turbine which is provided in said exhaust passage. A compressor is provided in said intake passage, along with a shaft for interconnecting said turbine and said compressor, the shaft being supported in a bearing hole which is formed in the engine block. Abstract: An optical disk is constructed such that a thin film including a reflective layer is formed on a substrate, or on a thermoplastic resin layer on the substrate. A stamper having an asperity pattern corresponding to information signals is directly pressed against the thin film to transfer the asperity pattern on the thin film. Heat-pressing the stamper against the thin film makes it possible to further accurately transfer the asperity of the stamper to the reflective layer with less pressing force in the case where the reflective layer is formed on a thermoplastic resin layer.

Abstract: When displaying moving images by using liquid crystal panels and others, a problem exists in that tail streaks occur, and image degradation is resultantly caused. To solve this problem, an echo suppression circuit divides a video signal into a pair composed of two successive frames for comparison between these two frames in signal level for the purpose of suppressing an echo phenomenon occurring when a liquid crystal panel displays video signals including moving images. If these two frames are not the same in signal level, the signal is accordingly corrected so as to equalize the signal level of these frames. Based on the video signals and others corrected by the echo suppression circuit, a controller operates the liquid crystal panel with AC drive through a source driver and a gate driver. As such, the drive voltage used to operate the liquid crystal panel with AC drive is adjusted so as to be balanced between positive and negative. In this manner, the tail streaks are prevented when displaying moving images.

Abstract: An optical information recording medium is manufactured by bonding a first substrate having a first central bore and a second substrate having a second central bore to each other with radiation cure resin. The radiation cure resin is coated on the first substrate. The first and second substrates are brought into close contact with each other so as to form the first and second substrates integrally with the radiation cure resin. A neighborhood of the first and second central bores is radiated. A whole of at least one of opposite outer faces of the integral first and second substrates is irradiated with radiation so as to wholly cure the radiation cure resin.
