    Abstract: There is included a method and apparatus comprising computer code configured to cause a processor or processors to perform receiving video data in an AOMedia Video 1 (AV1) format comprising data of at least two chroma prediction-residual signal blocks, a transformation between at least one signal block, having a size less than or equal to a combination of the chroma prediction-residual signal blocks, and the chroma prediction-residual signal blocks, and decoding the video data based on an output of the transformation comprising the at least one signal block having the size less than or equal to the combination of the chroma prediction-residual blocks.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for point cloud compression and decompression. In some examples, an apparatus for point cloud compression/decompression includes processing circuitry. In some embodiments, the processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a point cloud from a coded bitstream and reconstructs a geometry reconstructed cloud according to a geometry image of the point cloud that is decoded from the coded bitstream. Further, the processing circuitry applies a filter to at least a geometry sample inside a patch of the geometry reconstructed cloud in addition to boundary samples of the patch to generate a smoothed geometry reconstructed cloud, and reconstructs points of the point cloud based on the smoothed geometry reconstructed cloud.

In some examples, an apparatus for point cloud compression/decompression includes processing circuitry. For example, the processing circuitry in the apparatus for point cloud encoding receives an occupancy map for a point cloud. The occupancy map is indicative of a background portion and a foreground portion for a coding block in an image that is generated based on the point cloud. Then, the processing circuitry devaluates distortions in the background portion of the coding block during an optimization process that results a coding option for the coding block, and encodes the coding block according to the coding option.

    Abstract: A method of point cloud geometry decoding including receiving, from a coded bitstream for a point cloud that includes a set of points in a three-dimensional (3D) space, first signaling information being indicative of partition information of the point cloud, and receiving second signaling information that indicates whether the 3D space is an asymmetric cuboid. The method further includes determining dimensions of the 3D space that are signaled along x, y, and z directions based on the second signaling information indicating that the 3D space is the asymmetric cuboid.     Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding and decoding. Processing circuitry of an apparatus for video decoding decodes coded information for one or more blocks from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates whether to apply a super resolution coding mode to the one or more blocks. The super resolution coding mode is applied in response to the one or more blocks having been down sampled from a high spatial resolution to a low spatial resolution lower than the high spatial resolution by an encoder. Based on the coded information indicating that the super resolution coding mode is applied to the one or more blocks, the processing circuitry can generate, using the super resolution coding mode, a reconstructed block having the high spatial resolution by upsampling information of a first block having the low spatial resolution in the one or more blocks including transform coefficients.

    Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium for point cloud coefficient coding are provided. Transform coefficients associated with point cloud data are decomposed into set-index values and symbol-index values, the symbol index-value specifying location of the transform coefficient within a set. The decomposed transform coefficients are partitioned into one or more sets based on the set-index values and the symbol-index values. The set-index values of the partitioned transform coefficients are entropy-coded, and the symbol-index values of the partitioned transform coefficients are bypass-coded. The point cloud data is compressed based on the entropy-coded symbol-index values and the bypass-coded set-index values.
