Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure includes methods and apparatuses for video decoding and video encoding and a method of processing visual media data. The apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry that receives coded information indicating that a current block in a current picture is coded with a decoder-side intra mode derivation (DIMD) mode. A template of the current block includes reconstructed samples in the current picture and is adjacent to the current block. The template includes one of a left template and a top template. The processing circuitry determines a filter type from a plurality of filter types associated with the one of the left template and the top template, applies the DIMD mode to the template based on the determined filter type to determine one or more intra prediction modes for the current block, and reconstructs the current block according to the one or more intra prediction modes.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to coding and decoding of 3-dimensional (3D) mesh and specifically to efficient coding of a vertex degree and face degree of 3D polygon mesh. In some implementations, when encoding a face, a vertex of the face following a split vertex of the face may be linked rather than signaled. In some other example implementations, a context for entropy encoding/decoding a vertex in the vertex degree or a face in the face degree may be selected based on cross characteristics in the face degree or the vertex degree.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to video coding/decoding and particularly for enhancing BAWP. One method includes receiving a video bitstream comprising a current block and a reference block, the reference block being used for predicting the current block and being identified by a motion vector associated with the current block; receiving a first syntax element indicating a scale factor, the scale factor being stored in a lookup table among two or more lookup tables maintained by the decoder for storing candidate scale factors or candidate scale factor differences, the candidate scale factor differences being differences between the candidate scale factors and a threshold value; selecting the lookup table; determining the scale factor based on the first syntax element and the selected lookup table; predicting the current block based on the reference block, the scale factor, and an offset; and reconstructing the current block based on the predicted current block.

Abstract: The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for coding video. In one aspect, a video bitstream includes a current image frame having a current coding block and signals a first syntax element for a residual template cross-component residual model (RT-CCRM) mode. When the RT-CCRM mode is enabled, the computing system identifies, in the current coding block, a first chroma sample and one or more luma samples corresponding to the first chroma sample, determines one or more residuals of the one or more luma samples in the current coding block, and applies a residual filter corresponding to the RT-CCRM mode to generate a first residual of the first chroma sample based on the residuals of the one or more luma samples. The computing system reconstructs the current image frame by compensating a predicted chroma sample with at least the first residual to reconstruct the first chroma sample.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video coding. A method for video decoding includes receiving a coded video bitstream that includes prediction information of a current block in a current picture. The prediction information indicates that an adaptive motion vector prediction (AMVP) mode and an adaptive motion vector resolution (AMVR) mode are applied to the current block. A set of motion vector (MV) resolutions in the AMVR mode is available for the current block. The method includes determining respective template matching (TM) costs corresponding to each of a plurality of MV resolutions in the set of MV resolutions based on the plurality of MV resolutions and motion information of the current block, reordering the plurality of MV resolutions based on the determined TM costs, selecting an MV resolution from the reordered plurality of MV resolutions, and reconstructing the current block based on the selected MV resolution.
