Abstract: A powered orthotic device includes a brace, a finger engagement member, a thumb engagement member, and a hand actuator. The powered orthotic device includes an affixment member affixed to the brace, and a finger carrier assembly with a finger carrier to engage the fingers of the wearer, as well as a locking mechanism configured to be removably attached to the affixment member. The wearer dons the orthotic device, without assistance from another, by placing the set of fingers into the finger carrier and using a free hand of the wearer to affix the locking mechanism to the affixment member.

Abstract: A sealing device for a foot therapeutic apparatus includes an airtight sleeve and a sealing member. The airtight sleeve includes a treatment box connecting end and a limb inlet end. The sealing member is fixedly mounted at the limb inlet end. The sealing member includes a tightening band and an annular gas bag located on the outer periphery of the tightening band. The annular gas bag is connected to a gas source. A foot therapeutic apparatus with the sealing device includes a treatment chamber and an electrical chamber. The treatment chamber comprises a treatment box, and the sealing device is arranged on the treatment box. A box opening is arranged at a top of the treatment box, and the treatment box connecting end of the airtight sleeve of the sealing device is hermetically connected to the box opening.

Abstract: A cross-strap tensioning apparatus is disclosed for use with a brace having a proximal portion engageable above a joint of a user and an opposing distal portion engageable below the joint. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus provides first and second cross-straps each extending between and interconnecting the proximal and distal portions of the brace. A terminal end of each of a first anterior strap portion and a spaced apart first posterior strap portion of the first cross-strap, along with a second anterior strap portion and a spaced apart second posterior strap portion of the second cross-strap, provides a cord channel configured for allowing a cord from a tensioning mechanism to extend therethrough in series. During use, as the tensioning mechanism is selectively tightened, the cord urges each of the first anterior strap portion, first posterior strap portion, second anterior strap portion and second posterior strap portion closer together.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an assisted rehabilitation system comprising a device with static-bicycle movement, and devices that automatically sense and manipulate body performance parameters, allowing the rehabilitation response process of a user to be optimised. In particular, the sensing devices measure the pedalling rate, the pedalling resistance and the user's pulse rate, allowing the optimum exercising range to be configured, depending on the data acquired from the patient and on the level of effort required from him or her. The system also comprises two motors. One motor drives a flywheel that allows the user to experience a variation in the pedalling rate while using the device. A second motor provides different levels of pedalling resistance, allowing muscular strength to be developed. When starting the activity, the user enters, on a touchscreen, the preliminary parameters for the desired pedalling rate and resistance level, which are analysed by a processing unit that calculates a suitable rehabilitation plan.
