Abstract: A polymer melt candle filter having a support which comprises a hollow cylindrical body defined by a first end, a second end, and a cylinder wall having a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion includes a screw thread on its outside surface and optionally a hex fitting on its inside surface for receiving a hex wrench. The second end portion includes a plurality of holes in the cylinder wall. The area of the openings of the holes on the outside surface of the cylinder wall may be larger than the area of the openings of the corresponding holes on the inside surface of the cylinder wall. The shape of the openings of the holes on the outside surface may be non-circular. A polymer melt filter plate assembly which comprises (a) a support plate comprising a plurality of threaded holes; (b) at least one filter which is screwed into at least one of the threaded holes via the screw thread on the outside surface of the first end portion of the filter support; (c) a tie rod with (i) a first end extending through a hole in a cone insert and a cap located at the second end of the filter support, and (ii) a second end extending through a threaded hole in the support plate; and (d) a cross bar which is attached to the second end of the tie rod for holding the support plate inside a shaft of an apparatus for filtering a polymer melt.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a waste-movement system having a bed-support assembly configured to receive, contain and support an aquarium bed of an aquarium. A vibration-source assembly is configured to be positioned relative to the bed-support assembly. The vibration-source assembly is also configured to selectively generate and transmit vibrational energy to the aquarium bed while the aquarium water is made to flow. This is done in such a way that the gravel of the aquarium bed becomes, at least in part, spaced apart (at least in part) from one another; and the aquarium water, at least in part, moves (at least in part) the liquefied waste and the solid waste through the aquarium bed from a first interior section to a second interior section of the aquarium.

Abstract: A liquid filter having a housing and a hollow insert. The housing has a dirty liquid feed, a clean liquid outlet and a drainage channel, and is closed by a detachable cover. In the channel, a valve is arranged, having a valve body axially displaceable between a closed and an open position. The cover on the housing presses the valve body into the closed position. When the cover is removed from the housing, the valve body is carried to its open position and then is detachable from the cover or insert and is retainable in its open position by a spring holding element. The holding element automatically expands into the opening position by spring force and engages a spring element restraint holding the valve body in its open position. A force contracts the spring element, displacing the valve body in the closing direction, releasing engagement with the spring restraint.

Abstract: A fluid reservoir for accommodating a fluid reductant used in an SCR exhaust treatment process may include various styles or designs of bag filters to filter debris and contaminants from the reductant prior to being channeled out of the reservoir. To secure the bag filter to a header assembly accommodating the various inlet and outlet tubes, in one aspect, the bag filter is adapted to fit around a header boss descending from the header assembly and protruding into the reservoir volume. Various configurations for the bag filter can be utilized to secure the bag filter to the header boss in a manner that isolates the tubes of the header assembly from the remainder of the reservoir volume to prevent debris and the like from being unintentionally drawn out of the reservoir.
