Abstract: A filter device has a filter housing (2) and a filter element (15) accommodated in the filter housing. The element material (44) of the filter element for filtering a liquid extends between two end caps (40, 42). At least one end cap (40) is mounted on an element receptacle (14). A bearing (46, 54), providing more than one degree of freedom, is used to articulate the filter element (15) on the element receptacle (14) via its one end cap (40). The bearing has a convex bearing surface (46) that is guided in a concave bearing surface (54). The respective bearing surface (46, 54) is part of a respective shell (55a, 55b). At least one shell (55b) has a passage (55c) for liquid media.

Abstract: An automated computer-controlled sampling system and related methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing agricultural samples for various chemical properties such as plant available nutrients. The sampling system allows multiple samples to be processed and analyzed for different analytes or chemical properties in a simultaneous concurrent or semi-concurrent manner. Advantageously, the system can process soil samples in the “as collected” condition without drying or grinding. The system generally includes a sample preparation sub-system which receives soil samples collected by a probe collection sub-system and produces a slurry (i.e. mixture of soil, vegetation, and/or manure and water), and a chemical analysis sub-system which processes the prepared slurry samples for quantifying multiple analytes and/or chemical properties of the sample. The sample preparation and chemical analysis sub-systems can be used to analyze soil, vegetation, and/or manure samples.

Abstract: A filter adaptor joins a canister filter to a hydraulic manifold block. The adaptor includes a hexagonal tool-receiving portion, an outflow passageway and one or more inflow passageways. The outlet flow passageway extends between opposed ends of the adaptor, and is used to direct filtered fluid from the filter to the manifold block. The inlet flow passageway(s) extend between the one end and a sealed region of the adaptor, and are used to direct fluid from the manifold block to the filter. The adaptor includes auxiliary ports formed in the tool-receiving portion that communicate with the inlet flow passageways and permit monitoring thereof.

Abstract: A liquid filter in the form of a filter element or a filter cartridge provides torsion locking relative to a filter head when the housing of such filter is threaded onto a filter head. Many embodiments employ a filter that includes a nipple portion at a top end with the torsion lock detent provided outboard of the nipple portion or integrated into the nipple portion. Many embodiments employ a simplified shoulder transition region at the top end of a torsion locked filter element. Valve actuation and/or filter differentiation is used in some embodiments. Different torsion locking arrangements, deformable thread profiles and other liquid filter features are disclosed.
