Abstract: A device that controls charging and discharging of a lithium ion battery (3) that starts an engine starter (1), includes: a voltage sensor (S1) that detects the voltage of the lithium ion battery; a current sensor (S2) that detects the current of the lithium ion battery; and a control section (30) that controls charging and discharging of the lithium ion battery. The control section (30) calculates capacity degradation rates of a cathode and anode of the lithium ion battery based on detected values of the voltage sensor and the current sensor at the time when a first time has elapsed, and at the time when a second time longer than the first time has elapsed, from startup of the engine starter, and limits the charging and discharging of the lithium ion battery based on comparison results between the capacity degradation rates and determination criterion values.

Abstract: A vehicle has a front grille, engine, engine compartment, power storage device, temperature sensor, shutter, heater and controller. The device can be electrically charged from an external power supply. The temperature sensor detects engine coolant temperature. The shutter is disposed in a transfer pathway of air drawn into the engine compartment via the front grille, and is switched between closed and open states. The heater is able to generate heat when receiving the electric power, raising the coolant temperature. The controller starts the engine when the coolant temperature is lower than a startup threshold value, drives the heater when the coolant temperature is lower than a first threshold value equal to or higher than the startup threshold value, until the coolant temperature becomes equal to or higher than the first threshold value, and drives the shutter to place the shutter in the closed state while the heater is driven.

Abstract: A heat management control device for a vehicle that includes: an electric motor that is applied as a motive power source; a power supply section that includes a storage battery and that supplies electrical power to the electric motor; a charging device that charges the storage battery through a connection to an external power source; a heat exchanger that performs heat exchange of heat generated by the charging device during charging with fluid flowing in a specific transport path; a heat storage section that uses a chemical reaction partway along the specific transport path in order to recover heat from the fluid and that stores the recovered heat; and a fluid supply controller that, from immediately after a vehicle is started, releases heat stored by the heat storage section to the fluid, and selectively supplies the fluid to a predetermined plurality of warm-up targets.

Abstract: A waste heat utilization system may include an air conditioning circuit for air conditioning a vehicle interior of the electric vehicle, wherein a working medium may circulate in the air conditioning circuit, which may have arranged therein a compressor for compressing the working medium, a condenser for condensing the working medium, and an evaporator for evaporating the working medium. The system may also include a cooling circuit for cooling at least one of the electric motor and the battery, wherein a coolant may circulate in the cooling circuit, which may have arranged therein the electric motor in a first branch and the battery in a second branch fluidically connected in parallel with the first branch, a first heat exchanger for discharging heat from the coolant into surroundings of the waste heat utilization system, a first delivery device for driving the coolant in the cooling circuit, a first chiller via which heat may be transferrable from the first branch into the air conditioning circuit, and a second chiller via which heat may be transferrable from the second branch into the air conditioning circuit. The system may further include a heating circuit, in which a heating medium circulates, and in which a second delivery device for driving the heating medium and a second heat exchanger for giving off heat from the heating medium into the vehicle interior may be arranged. The condense may be an indirect heat exchanger via which heat is transferrable from the air conditioning circuit into the heating circuit.

Abstract: When ignition-on operation is made in first electric power supply processing during external charging, and a post-operation electric energy is not larger than a predetermined electric energy that is an electric energy consumption of a low-voltage device after the ignition-on operation, an automobile continues the first electric power supply processing. In the first electric power supply processing, from between a first DC/DC converter and a second DC/DC converter, only the second DC/DC converter is selected to run to supply electric power to a low-voltage-system electric power line. When the post-operation electric energy exceeds the predetermined electric energy, the automobile makes a switch to second electric power supply processing in which only the first DC/DC converter is selected to run from between the first DC/DC converter and the second DC/DC converter to supply electric power to the low-voltage-system electric power line.

Abstract: An intelligent multi-loop thermal management system for and electric vehicle has components including a battery pack, an electric-drive module, an on-board charger a DC/DC converter, a battery radiator, a battery refrigerator, a motor radiator, an electric water pump, an electric oil pump, an expansion tank, a PTC heater, a heat exchanger, an electric compressor, a condenser, an evaporator, a receiver drier, and a heater core. The system also includes an electric-drive module having a drive motor and a motor control unit. The components are thermally connected to each other by using a pipeline and a four-way valve, a three-way valve, a straight-through valve, and an electronic expansion valve that are disposed in the pipeline, to form a plurality of loops that separately performs thermal management and control the battery pack, the electric-drive module, and a passenger compartment air conditioner.

Abstract: A vehicle may include: a power-supplier; a starting part to receive an ignition command; a drive part to generate driving force, braking force, and steering force using power of the power-supplier; a user interface (UI) to receive power from the power-supplier, a command from a user, and output image information; and a controller to control the drive part and the user interface (UI) upon receiving an ignition command, stop operation of the drive part upon receiving a command of a rest mode, and to perform and control operation of the user interface (UI). The vehicle may further include: an air conditioner to adjust an indoor temperature; an input to receive an operation command of the air conditioner, a target indoor temperature and a rest mode. The controller controls the air conditioner on the basis of detected indoor and outdoor temperatures.
