Abstract:
A computerized information system useful for providing directions and other information to a user. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a processor and network interface and computer readable medium having at least one computer program disposed thereon, the at least one program being configured to receive inputs from the user regarding locations or entities, and provide directions and/or advertising related content. At least a portion of the information is obtained via the network interface from a remote server.
Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: a personal authentication device provided in a destination call registration device adapted to obtain authentication information from a user; an access control device adapted to, when the personal authentication device obtains the authentication information, obtain verification information comprised of a plurality of pieces of permitted floor information corresponding to the authentication information and position information of the destination call registration device; and a supervisory controller adapted to determine, based on the verification information, whether a destination floor inputted into the destination call registration device is a permitted floor, and, based on the registration, control an elevator car.
Abstract:
An elevator system including an authentication device by which a user before boarding an elevator car performs personal authentication, a destination floor registration device which automatically performs destination floor registration when personal authentication has been performed by the authentication device, a group controller which assigns an elevator to the registered destination floor, and an indication device which indicates the assigned machine number. When the machine number of the elevator assigned by the group controller is successively indicated, the indication device provides indications to each user by a prescribed method which permits discrimination between preceding and succeeding indications even when the machine number is the same. Thereby, the registration of a destination floor is performed during passage of a prescribed place, and a user who passes the above-described prescribed place can recognize the machine number of the elevator assigned to the user.
Abstract:
An adaptive advertising apparatus and associated methods. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a computer readable medium having at least one computer program disposed thereon, the at least one program being configured to adaptively present (e.g., display) advertising-related content (e.g., audio, video, images, etc.) that is contextually related to the topic of a conversation between a plurality of parties or individuals. In one variant, the at least one program comprises a speech recognition program that analyzes digitized speech, and identifies one or more words therein in order to determine the topic of conversation or context. Contextually related (or targeted) advertising is then selected based on its relationship to the determined context or topic.
Abstract:
In an elevator system in which a plurality of elevators are operated based on a destination floor registered from a destination floor registration device in an elevator hall, the optimal operation of elevator can be realized, and a user boarding the elevator car from the hall can surely confirm his/her registered destination floor. For this purpose, a destination floor indication device is installed in the elevator car, and the destination floor of the car is indicated on the destination floor indication device. Also, when a user boards the car from a hall, only the destination floor registered from that hall is indicated on the destination floor indication device.
Abstract:
In an elevator control device in which, when a verified person is authenticated as a registered person by an person authentication device, a security gate is opened to enable the movement into an elevator hall, even when a user cannot ride on an assigned car for some reason after passing through the security gate, the user is enabled to use an elevator, and convenience can be prevented from becoming poor. For this purpose, a hall destination floor registration device is provided in the elevator hall so that the user who is present in the hall registers his/her destination floor. A destination call is always registered automatically interlocking with the security gate, and when a predetermined condition is met, the destination floor registration of user made using the hall destination floor registration device is validated.
Abstract:
An elevator system includes multiple cars within a hoistway. Parking positions are provided outside the range of passenger service levels. A destination entry strategy is used by a controller for directing movement of the elevator cars. The inventive combination of multiple cars in a hoistway, parking positions outside of the normal passenger service level range and destination entry car movement control allows for reducing car travel speed, reducing car size or both while still meeting desired handling capacity needs or even exceeding the desired handling capacity associated with another elevator system that requires larger cars, higher speeds and more building space.
Abstract:
An adaptive advertising apparatus and associated methods. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a computer readable medium having at least one computer program disposed thereon, the at least one program being configured to adaptively present (e.g., display) advertising-related content (e.g., audio, video, images, etc.) that is contextually related to inputs provided via an input device such as a for example touch-screen display device. In one variant, the at least one program analyzes user input to determine a context of the input, and selects advertising related to the context for presentation to the user.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for setting up a number of operating units in a lift system having a number of floors. The operating units are connected in series. A first operating unit is connected to a central controller, and at least one operating unit is provided on each floor. Configuration data with an address data packet is sent from the controller to the operating units. The address data packet has a number of addresses, which permits the fixing of an address for each operating unit. The invention further relates to a lift system for carrying out the method.
Abstract:
Elevators (104) in a group elevator system (100) are controlled to facilitate transport of a large item (LI). A destination entry input device receives an input from a passenger (102) indicating that the passenger (102) has a large item (LI) to be transported in the group elevator system (100). The passenger (102) with the large item (LI) is assigned to an elevator (104) having capacity to accommodate the passenger (102) and the large item (LI).
