Abstract:
A station device in a biometric pre-identification system uses identity to perform one or more actions. Identities are determined (such as via a backend) using biometric information. A biometric pre-identification device obtains biometric information and/or a digital representation thereof from a person approaching the station device. The biometric pre-identification device transmits such to the station device, facilitating the station to begin and/or perform various actions. The station device begins or performs the actions using the identity determined based on the biometric information before the person arrives at the station device.

Abstract:
An equipment operation apparatus (100) includes: a connection unit (102) that acquires apparatus identification information for distinguishing a plurality of operated apparatuses (10) from each other and connects to a communication apparatus (200) communicable with a controller (20) of an operated apparatus (10) indicated by the apparatus identification information; and a display processing unit (104) that causes, when a connection to the communication apparatus (200) is established, a display unit (110) to display an operation screen for operating the operated apparatus (10) controlled by the controller (20) communicable with the communication apparatus (200).
Abstract:
In an approach for determining an optimal path for an elevator, a processor receives information, wherein the information includes social media data associated with a user and calendar entries associated with the user, indicating one or more locations within a building. A processor analyzes the received information. A processor determines a location to send an elevator within the building to minimize movement of the elevator, based on the analyzed information. A processor causes the elevator to move to the location.
Abstract:
A method of operating an elevator system includes presenting a credential at a security panel disposed at an elevator system landing of a public area of a building. If the presented credential is correct a contact between the security panel and an elevator control system is opened. Opening of the contact allows for placement of a call via the elevator control system for an elevator car to the landing. An elevator system includes one or more elevator cars located in one or more hoistways. An elevator control system controls movement of the elevator cars. A security panel is operably connected to the elevator control system and located at an elevator system landing. Presenting a correct credential at the security panel opens a contact between the security panel and the elevator control system thus initiating a call of an elevator car of the one or more elevator cars to the landing.
Abstract:
A user can input commands into a lock by gesturing on a surface of the lock. The gesture is made by sliding a finger over multiple buttons on the lock surface. The lock recognizes the gesture based on the buttons touched by the sliding finger and the order in which they were touched. The lock associates a particular command with the recognized gesture.
Abstract:
According to one or more embodiments, a system and method for authorizing a user securing an elevator call in a building is provided. For example, the method includes receiving, at a mobile device, a secure authorization token that includes an expiration time, connecting the mobile device to a backend system using the secure authorization token from the mobile device, verifying, using the backend system, an authenticity of the secure authorization token from the mobile device based on at least the expiration time, generating, at the backend system, a secure access token and a random number in response to the authenticity of the secure authorization token being verified, and receiving, at the mobile device, the secure access token and the random number for use making elevator call requests.
Abstract:
A method for controlling a lift installation having a plurality of cabins that can each stop at a number of floors may involve assigning calls placed outside the cabins to the cabins by way of a lift controller based on at least one assignment criterion. The method may involve considering a current traffic situation of the lift installation during the assignment. The method may further involve generating and considering a forecast of a future traffic situation of the lift installation during the assignment. The forecast may account for personal information of at least one of a person who is in a predetermined environment of the lift installation, a person who is in a section of the lift installation, a person who enters a predetermined environment of the lift installation, or a person who leaves a predetermined environment of the lift installation.”
Abstract:
A computer system can be configured to cause a mechanical action based on transient data stored on a user's mobile device. In some examples, the system includes a mobile device finder for receiving calendar information from a mobile device within a physical distance from an elevator system. The calendar information specifies a time and a place of an appointment. The system includes a calendar verifier for determining that the time of the appointment is within a time period from a current time and that the place of the appointment corresponds to a destination floor reachable by the elevator system. The system includes an elevator programmer for programming the elevator system with the destination floor so that, when a user carries the mobile device onto an elevator car of the elevator system, the elevator system controls the elevator car to take the user to the destination floor.
Abstract:
A method for determining a destination call for use by an elevator installation with a control unit and at least one destination call device includes ascertaining several destination calls and making them known to the user by the destination call device. A destination call is selected by a change in position of the user and/or a data communication is activated between the destination call device and a communications unit, which is carried by the user, within a defined range of a radio link section of the destination call device and thereupon a destination call is selected by a change in position of the communications unit inside or outside the radio link section. The selected destination call is communicated to the control unit for serving the destination call.
